Central Station Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in New Trier Township

I have thought carefully about leaving a review, because typically I don't like to leave negative reviews. The staff here is very friendly, and it seems like the place is lively. There is a nice atmosphere. However, after coming here a few times and hoping for different results, I have been disappointed with the quality of the drinks (a quality that the prices do not reflect). I have worked in the coffee industry for several years. Each time I have ordered a hot drink here, the milk has not been steamed correctly. The texture is extremely disappointing, there are no micro bubbles, and the temperature varies wildly. One drink I had was too hot, and the other drink I had was too cold. After a few visits it's time to write a review and a few suggestions. It's great to have this new coffee shop in Wilmette, it was needed as demonstrated by the fact that is always busy. Coffee is generally good (please change the sugar dispenser, the diner style does just fit the place nor is easy to use, for instance the brown sugar gets stuck because of the humidity), the small selection of pastries is great for a continental breakfast. I'm sure in the future there will be more options but for the moment it's fine. One suggestion, keep open longer :), it's nice to have a coffe place open in the afternoon that is not Starbucks. I visit this delicious coffee shop once a month when I get the car washed down the street. Today I rolled on in on my scooter (broken foot) and made my order with Kate. Even though the shop was busy Kate was smiling and patient. There was a long wait for coffee I needed to leave. Kate graciously offered to escort me and my order back to car wash. Wow! Wow! Wow! She dropped everything to help. Even put the coffees in my cup holders. My experience has carried through my morning. Her thoughtfulness = joy.
