had horrible experiences in this BJ's. Was yelled at by a male customer who was with his two kids in this BJ's for no reason and the workers in BJ's didn't take any action to stop that crazy man. Another time I was waiting for rotisserie chicken. A man working in the kitchen told me the chicken would be ready in 20 minutes and then I had my cousin wait there while I was doing other grocery shopping with my dad. 40 minutes passed and I went to the guy and asked him whether the chicken was ready. He said yes but he had no right to move them to the containers. We had to wait for a woman who had the authority to do so.... Then he said the woman would be there in 5 minutes.... But we waited for another 15 minutes and the woman still didn't show up. I then saw a manager coming here and said we had to wait for another 15-20 minutes. I told him we had waited for at least 50 minutes... The chicken was already overcooked. He then asked that woman to come out.... that woman was very reluctant to come out to move the chicken out of the grill... The chicken was very dry and overcooked. Tasted awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When we were leaving this BJ's, a woman was checking all of our bags... Different from Costco, BJ's always has people check bags super thoroughly!!! Super!!! They look into every item on the receipt! It is fine for me but then the woman told me we had to use their cart so it would be easy for them to see all the items... I already packed all my stuff when I checked out!!! If they treat all the customers like thieves, they should never have self-checkout counters!!! They should hire real people doing the checkout jobs!!! They are trying to save labor cost but are treating customers very rudely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once I walked out of BJ's, I called my husband.... please be 1000% sure that our membership will never be renewed automatitcally. I will never go to any BJ's to do any shopping!!!! I have been to many Costcos in the world and I have never been treated like this!!! No wonder Costcos are always very packed! BTW, Costcos don't have that stupid coupon system that BJ's is still using. In Costco, when you check out, you automatically get discounts on those discounted items. But in BJ's you have to waste time getting coupons or you will not get discounts on those discounted items.
The worst shopping experiences ever on my last few...
Read moreI would have given it one star if it wasn't being decently cleaned as a wholesale store, good job to the cleaning crews. But this is where the good stops.
The coupon booklet is a completely waste of paper and so inefficient it shouldn't exist in this age, in Costco and other wholesale stores the discounts are coupon-less, they are labelled on the price tags and are already in the system when you scan the items.
But in BJ's, you have to take the booklet, search for the coupons, rip the ones you need, then pray the scanning work, which is not going to happen at least 80% of the time. Then the booklet is useless and thrown away.
The worst is their self-checkout system, I have been to many other stores and never ran into any problem with their self-checkout, but here is like they stuffed technology from the early 7-80s into newer boxes to imitate modern technology.
You scanned the items in moderately speed (not even close to the speed of a normal cashier)? Oh no, many items will not be actually scanned into the system and you have to wait for the "assistant" to come and lift you off the pause, then backtrack to find out what items were and weren't logged in. You never know when it will hit.
The instruction of using the coupons in self-checkout is as easier as learning how to speak to turkeys (yes, the birds). Even if you followed every step, good luck, the coupons wouldn't work 80% of the time. All these time "assistants" there will just look into the empty space.
Unless you want to hold up the line for another 10 minutes to hassle around the coupons, you may as well not to bother with them to begin with. Or better, get your business to other wholesaler with better systems.
I really dislike leaving review with negativity, but this one kicked the balls too hard. This does not happened once or twice, it is a constantly problematic trouble we have faced at least 80% of the...
Read moreThe General Manager of this store, Satchel McLean, is a disaster. Very disrespectful towards his employees, especially the managers, constantly calling them and shouting about stuff they have no control over. Every single day he logs into the system and changes people's schedules, cuts hours, and schedules them for shifts for which they are not available. When you go to complain to your manager, they just shrug their shoulders and say "you have to talk to Satchel". They all either don't care or are scared of him. Countless valuable workers have either quit or transferred to other clubs, and they all cite him, his attitude, and his lack of professionalism as the reason. The store is always understaffed because he is too cheap to let more people work. The electric carts are all broken and sitting in the back because he is too cheap to replace them. The store has had elderly and disabled club members complain several times that they cannot get around the floor without the carts, but to no avail. Cages with boxes at the front all have broken rods, which is a safety hazard - too cheap to replace them. Gray bins used to pick up boxes from the floor are all missing wheels, employees have to move them around on pallet jacks, which is a safety hazard - too cheap to replace them. The garbage compactor is breaking down every other week - too cheap to replace it, easier to just keep shoving garbage down with a pipe. Recently, a maintenance worker transferred stores and there's been nobody to keep the location clean at nights because he is too cheap to schedule anybody else. This place under Satchel is a joke and I sincerely hope that he is soon removed from his position, otherwise, everybody will stop...
