I went to have lunch there around 12:30pm It was 3 adults 1 teen . We all ordered some sort of friend rice, 4 seltzer waters and I believe we had 2 orders of spring rolls . The bill came up to close to $250 no alcohol was ordered.
The teenager noticed a hair in her food at which point we did let them know and they did offer to make it over.
The worst part of this high over priced rice was the waitress behavior. We asked for some plum sauce or whatever sauce that came with the spring rolls so we can add it on our rice she wanted to charge us for it . Everything was an up charge.
Remember I said the bill that she gave us said over $250 .
I decided to take a look at the bill when I noticed the waitress added her own gratuity of over 22% which at that point I asked he to removed but as to my understanding gratuity is upon your own discretion. When I asked why did she do that because no where on the menu stated they add their own gratuities. She acted like she was unaware of what I was saying . So I requested it to be removed .
She did remove it but stood in front of me waiting for a tip .
Mind you the bill also had a suggested amount of gratuities.
So she was basically double dipping. At that point I was completely turned off. I asked for my change back and we proceeded to get our stuff and walk out.
At that point she started asking us if we wasn’t going to leave her a tip and I said no, I did not like the behavior of your service as far as you put an extra gratuity on top of our bill.
She then proceeded to start screaming at us. Don’t come back here. Don’t come and eat here trying to embarrass us in front of everyone. We paid our bill we owed nothing for the bill that could’ve went very very badly. It could’ve gotten out of hand. Had one of us had a bad attitude that was totally and utterly unprofessional. She was extremely nasty and screaming to the top of our lungs. Don’t come back because she didn’t get to get away With her dishonesty, trying to steal basically...
Read moreThis review is for the service received today. The food was excellent as always. I dine here regularly. It truly is my go to place for family members b-day, Friday night girls out, quick bite with the hubby and even when I just want some me time, I go alone.
Today we had take out because of social distancing. My husband and I decided to drive all the way there and pick up because we just missed the place.
Our total came to $46.87 for shrimp basil fried rice, papaya salad and a duck entree with broad noodles. My husb gave them $50 cash and told them keep the change of $3.13. Upon almost exiting my husband remembered I had asked for an extra sauce on the side. He turned around and asked them for the sauce. He was told $1. He went in his pocket and gave them a dollar. He was then told 9¢ more. He checked his pockets and did not have 9¢. He told them unfortunately he did not have 9¢. They told him he can use his card to purchase the $1.09 sauce. He advised he did not have his card on him. He was told they could not give him the sauce. FOR 9¢, you tell a customer that just spent almost $50 and gave you the balance, that you cannot give him a sauce BECAUSE OF 9¢??? My husband was taken aback. He said "I just spent almost $50 on food and gave you a $3.13 tip for nothing at all and you will deny me sauce for 9¢? Ok then, take the 9¢ out of the tip then". The person had the nerve to be shocked he was requesting such...and gave him the sauce for $1.
I find it appalling that Born would treat their customers this way over 9¢, when honestly we didn't have to tip them anything, as we were picking up our food. I still can't believe this happened. OVER NINE CENTS!! 😧 When people are not dining out as much and being very prudent on how and where they're spending their money, Born you really should do a better job at appreciating your loyal customers that are still supporting you during...
Read moreDo not eat here unless you wanna be robbed !! Wish I could give this place zero stars ! We came at 9 pm for a round of drinks. Immediately after we ordered drinks and a appetizer the waitress dropped the check then came back every 2 minutes for 10 minutes until we gave her our cards. It was only 9:30 at this point. She comes back to tell us she cannot split the check and we would have to choose one card to pay with. She then stood over us until we decided which card. All of this made us feel very rushed which didn’t make sense because there were 2 other couples who had clearly finished their meals before we arrived just still sitting and talking even after we left. When the waitress came back she only came with one receipt so we assumed everything was paid up and tried to leave. She then proceeded to tell us that her coworker said we needed to leave a tip before we could go. We didnt want to argue so we gave them a tip and started to walk out. The coworker who did not serve us proceeded to tell us to never return (we were never going to anyway). When we left we realized my friend had forgotten his umbrella. We go back to get it and couldn’t find it where he had left it even though we all remained sat until we got up to leave. After 5 minutes of arguing and searching we found out that they had hidden it in the back and lied to out faces about it out of some strange revenge. Also the drinks tasted like straight lime juice. Save...
