Cote Wine Bar fills a niche - perfectly.

My wife and I have gone there a few times. When we want something to eat, and some good wine served by knowledgeable pros, Cote is first on our list. Without pretension, the staff is able to balance serving us wine and refreshments we like, while recommending things they would like us to try. Oftentimes they are right. They are genuinely excited when I try something new.

The atmosphere is mellow and relaxing. I don't always want a bar and the noise and large TV's that accompany it. There are no screens at Cote - only people surrounded by thoughtful calm lighting, dark wood walls and a bar - and robust conversation by adults.

Finally a Wine Bar in Riverdale!! The wood decor is beautiful and makes you feel like your in a Paris cafe.. Thankfully no distracting TV, so you can have a conversation .The small plate menu is just right for pairing with the great wine selection. The cheese board and fresh bread was delicious..The service was excellent. I mean it from the heart when I say that this place really is unique. This is worth a visit just to see the fascinating wood paneling, which was acquired from a Rockefeller estate! The wine is carefully chosen by experts, and the food is truly french. Do not hesitate to choose the 'wine flight' which changes weekly, and gives you a chance to sample three wines that the owners are really excited about. Live music is frequent, fun but not too loud.
