I wish I could give this place 0 stars. This got to be some West Indian garbage. (Iām West Indian) so donāt think Iām coming at the culture. My meal was supposed to come with a beverage.. now when I got my food, I asked the cashier whereās the drink that comes with the meal? She told me she put extra festival in the bag because the drink machine is broken. Like this is crazy Miss, why didnāt you mention that when I placed the order?? Maybe I wouldnāt have even ordered that if I was aware of this. Let me not forget to tell you that the meal was stew chicken with white rice and festival with a ādrinkā that came up to $27. The food was served in bowls!!! Like why??? How do you put stew chicken in a bowl??. Another separate bowl for white rice. Then the festival in the foil. How are you suppose to go about eating everything in separate bowls? Like why not put the āmealā in one to go plate. Smh Then I asked for vegetables⦠they told me this is an extra charge. I never heard of nothing like this in a Jamaican restaurant in my life!!!!! This is a shame and I really expected better from this place especially considering the price. It looks like a nice place on the outside and the food is not it. Looks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve past this establishment numerous times and today my curiosity got the better of me. Amongst all the Jamaican spots in this area I was seeking something new, maybe Iād even found a diamond in the rough⦠I was wrong. If as a Jamaican restaurant you canāt nail down a good jerk chicken (every place is different and tastes will vary) then you need to go back to the drawing board. I played it safe and grabbed the ājerk chickenā sandwich and what I got was something very close to supermarket rotisserie chicken with a lilā kick. First I waited close to 15 minutes for a sandwich that was room temperature at best. Now I know that everything has its place but there was no need for there to be mayonnaise anywhere near that sandwich and growing up in an island household I never saw it incorporated into any of the staple meals so again I think they should pass on the mayo and focus on their seasonings.
Sadly this was my first and last time eating here.
Word to the wise. If you have a place that you frequent when you need to get your Jamaican food fix, go there or try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was told about this place from my Aunt. I had an opportunity to try the snapper escovitch fish at a party on 8/9/2020. When I tell you that fish was so flavorful and tasty.
I went today and ordered a bunch of things. I.e. rasta pasta, oxtail, curry goat, wings, callaloo rice, pumpkin rice and of course some snapper. The pasta, oxtail, curry goat and the carrots/peppers for the fish were š„. I mean head sweating hot š„. I couldn't even share with my children. They were looking forward to the pasta and couldn't eat it. The sauce for the wings wasn't that bad but needless to say it was spicy.
A little pepper sauce should is ok but but someone clearly is putting too much in all the pots.
Portion sizes are small and lacks veggies and/or plantains. Prices are a bit pricey.
I would definitely go back for fish since I can take off the onions, peppers and carrots but I will not order other meals.
I loved the fact that you can call ahead, place your order and pick up. In addition the food...
