I had the opportunity to visit Drinkology for the first time, this past Saturday, July 8th. My boyfriend and I were warmly greeted by Rosie, the hostess, who eventually told us she also performs in house, which is definitely interested in coming back to see. The ambient is dark and elegant, the aesthetic is nice and unique to Astoria. Shaun and Shannon were ready to help us, and made sure to always pay attention to our table, for the entire time we were there. I love smoky, spicy and sweet combination, so I ordered a Sombrero, my boyfriend loves sweet ones, he had a Puplin. We were both very happy with them. To be honest, the Sombrero was one of the best drinks I’ve had in NYC, if not the best, it definitely tasted like it was something delicately crafted, and not just liquor poured in together The balance between the flavors I like were just perfect. I’d expect nothing less from a place named Drinkology, and they did not disappoint me. The food selection to me was rather small, given I’m vegetarian, but I ended up sharing flatbread and artichoke hearts, as appetizers, and requested the Penne without the pancetta. The food was also great, even with not so many options, but given the name of the establishment, I was definitely more interested on the drink menu. For the second round we had the Josephine and the Passionate, and again, no disappointment. Everything perfectly crafted and balanced, worth it their prices. The “bad” part is that the Sombrero really made an impression, it hit all the boxes to me, so I wish I had had that for last. And again, that’s extremely personal, nothing to do with their work.
