Review for Eddieâs Deli â A Hidden Gem for American-Style Cutlets and Fresh Salads
âââââ (5/5)
I had the pleasure of dining at Eddieâs Deli recently, and I must sayâit was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This local spot perfectly balances hearty, flavorful American-style deli offerings with a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service.
I ordered the Tuna Salad Sub, which came with tender chicken cuts and a generous helping of jalapeños for that extra kickâand it was absolutely delicious. The tuna was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and blended smoothly without being overly heavy. The chicken cutlets added a savory depth and satisfying texture, while the jalapeños brought just the right amount of spice to elevate the whole sandwich. Everything was assembled on a fresh, crusty sub roll that held up beautifully, bite after bite.
What truly stands out about Eddieâs Deli is their commitment to quality. Every ingredient felt thoughtfully chosenâfrom the crisp vegetables to the balanced flavors in their sauces and seasonings. Whether youâre craving a classic American deli experience or something with a little heat and personality, this place delivers.
I would highly recommend Eddieâs Deli to anyone looking to enjoy authentic American-style cutlets, freshly made salads, or just a seriously satisfying sandwich. Itâs clear they take pride in what they serve, and it shows in every bite.

Inside it still looks like 1940s or 50s; there's a single booth on the left as you walk in that has that postwar formica look. Also the fact that it has "kosher" in its name hearkens back to a time when this part of the Bronx had a significant Jewish population. The population has changed over and over since then but Eddie's survives with traditional NYC deli fare like fresh bagels every morning, knishes, latkes, etc, plus hot food like home-made soup, beef stew, and chili, and of course the requisite pastrami, corned beef, and brisket. Plus all kinds of potato salad, pickled mushrooms, chicken cutlets, pasta-spinach salad, etc etc. I only go there when I have houseguests, but when I...
Read moreEddie's is a family-run, no-frills, old-school Kosher Deli located in the Norwood section of the Bronx. I had some of the BEST hot sandwiches of my life there. The roast beef is great and so is their ruben. But the best thing on the menu is without a doubt, their hot brisket. Juicy, melt in your mouth goodness.
The young lady and her brother who work the counter are real New Yawkers who take pride in what they serve. They don't just slap everything together, then throw it at you.
Their decor looks like it hasn't been changed since 1998 which I LOVE! It reminds me of some of the places I used to enjoy along Burnside back in the day.
We need more places like this. ...
