We came here to enjoy the guacamole and have a good meal. From the moment we arrived I felt a little uncomfortable with the waitress when she seemed bothered by the fact that my husband didn't sit where she wanted us to sit but I hoped that the feeling would change. My husband then went to the bathroom to wash his hands and when he sat down he took his utensils out of the napkin to dry his hands because there where no towels in the bathroom. The food was coming soon so my husband took the utensils from the table next to us which mind you were the only people in the restaurant,so he could use the napkin from that one to clean his face while he's eating his food. The waitress is now coming with the food and see's that my husband has 2 forks and 2 knives and asked us if we took the utensils from another table and I said yes and explained why and her response was that next time ask her for the napkin ( scolding us like we are children )and it sounded worse in spanish. My husband was so shocked that he didn't say anything to me but then he asked me why I didn't say anything. I was just trying to have a peaceful time. I saw my husbands wheel in his head turning and usually he tries not to make a big deal out of things but I can see that what she did really bothered him and he was almost done with his bottled water so he snapped his fingers at her and told her to bring him another water bottle to see how she liked being treated badly and you can tell that it really bothered her. It was cold outside and she saw that my husband had his coat on because it was a little cold inside as well and she opened the door for a little while on purpose. We were finally done with our food and paid the check and now its tip time. I took the tip and walked to the back towards the kitchen and called the cook out. I handed him the waitresses tip and he was so happy. I told him to tell the owner that the food was good but he needs to hire another waitress. We are now walking out of the restaurant and I told her that she needs to learn how to address customers. Well maybe she learned something or maybe she's so ignorant that she feels she didn't do anything wrong ( VERONICA ). A napkin isn't serious enough to warrant you to make a customer feel...
Read moreI was there for literally just 20-30 mins for a quick bite. (I even told the waitress I just want some tacos). I order lengua tacos(It says $8 on the menu). It comes with two and I only asked for tape water..the bill comes $11.28 or something(maybe the tape water is $2.5??). I didn't really check the details but I walked to the cashier and paid $13 (Like 18% tips). The waitress gave me an unhappy and she did not even look at me when she handed me the change. I even said thank you to her but her face was unhappy and turning away. It's a pity- this is my first time coming in to eat after living in the neighborhood for 10 years, but I don't think I will go there again...she needs a big tips to smile.. It's too bad. I lived in Queens before, and I know...
Read moreHad three small tacos - al pastor, shrimp and chicken - and a pineapple margarita. The shrimp and chicken tacos were good, but not a 'wow.' The pastor though was delicious, well seasoned, just the right amount of spice. And the pineapple margarita was equally awesome - tasted really fresh and the server recommended a spicy salt rim, which was a nice complement. Prices are reasonable and the service was attentive. Will definitely be back.
They have a small outdoor seating area, which I enjoyed, as it was a warm night. Note: the restaurant is very close to the 71st St D train, so if you're outside, your dinner convo will occasionally be interrupted by trains. I didn't find this too off-putting, but some might prefer to eat indoors...
