Taqueria Talavera — Restaurant in New York

I rarely review places but I felt this place deserved it because they made the best tacos I’ve had in the area, even when ordered via delivery app. Obviously I’m not a top-level taco expert but I lived in Phoenix for 10+ years and frequently traveled to California and around the southwest so I have had some really incredible Mexican food. The carne asada and al pastor tacos, both soft and hard shell, were great. Flavorful meat cut small enough to give even bites, fresh veggies used for the toppings, and delicious bright spicy salsa verde on the side. The hard shells were pretty good, but the soft corn tortillas were where it’s at. They’re thin enough to be easy and clean to bite but not so thin they get soggy and fall apart. More yellow than white, very flavorful, not grainy or gritty or chalky. They made the tacos so much better. Highly recommend, I’m gonna be trying more stuff from here and bringing...

My partner & I have been waiting for the day to try Talavera and the day finally arrived! We saw the Happy Hour $5 Margarita sign and knew it was time. We both had the mango margarita and it was delicious! Instantly teleported me to the beach. We had the milanesa de pollo torta, asada burrito, a side order of fries, and then the night concluded with warm & toasty churros. Everything tasted so good!

The atmosphere was fantastic, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful autumn day. The exterior was set up so nicely. Almost forgot there was a train station right behind us!

Lastly, the service was fantastic! We felt welcomed & comfortable. The gentleman who took care of us was so friendly & nice. Definitely looking forward to...

Came across this fairly new spot which is really close by so decided to give it a try since I love me some tacos and because of all the raving reviews, they did not disappoint! My daughters birthday was yesterday and she requested to specifically eat Birria tacos so I recommend she try it out from here since I've dined in before, and she loved it says one of the best she's had yet! I also noted that it was her birthday and they gave her a complimentary piece of cake which is so sweet of them especially for a take out. Thank you!!
