In response to the president’s Trump tariffs, I decided to enjoy my third Ackee and Saltfish breakfast in a week while prices remained reasonable. I observed that many restaurants have removed Ackee from their menus, likely because of rising import taxes. When I visited Golden Krust, I used their self-service kiosk to place my order, where I was prompted to choose between takeaway or dining in. I opted for the dine-in option. However, after paying, I realized there was no seating available since all the seats had been removed since my last visit some time ago. After receiving my order, I found a wooden stool across the street and ate my meal there. The dish wasn’t as flavorful as the two Ackee meals I had earlier in the week at other restaurants. The Golden Krust version was somewhat bland and less spicy. I suspect this is because they cater to a more diverse customer base compared to the more traditional Jamaican eateries. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my meal, although eating on the sidewalk was neither comfortable nor pleasant. Summary I believe that a small seating area by the main window would be sufficient for most customers like myself who prefer a quick dine-in experience.

I am home sick and ordered 2 large chicken soups to last me. I had never had chicken soup from this location before. The soup was healing in a bowl. I knew a man had made that soup. I called the location to tell the chef how much I enjoyed his soup. It was prepared by Oral. Told him I’d marry him sight unseen on the strength of his chicken soup. Just the right balance of everything. Absolutely delicious and beneficial! I can hardly wait for the next serving!

Came here after 6 pm, and it was busy. They have all their cooked food on display. The prices definitely increase. It is located in a corner of the street. I got 2 spicy beef patties for $3.29 each and a red velvet cake for $5.99. The patties were krispy. The cake had cream cheese icing with nuts. I asked the cashier if the icing was vanilla or cream chesse. She informed me of the incorrect answer (vanilla).

Based on the taste of the food, the portion sizes and the selection, this place deserves 5 stars but can only get 2 from me because every single time I’ve been here, the staff’s POOR customer service can sour the taste right out of your mouth. My partner was ordering and asking a question for clarity about the salmon dish he loves to get and the server literally walked off. I stand in line and see and hear other customers bristle and grumble about the unfriendly, unsmiling staff. So I know it’s not me alone…I am saddened that West Indian businesses are plagued by a bad reputation for horrible customer service. When I see it in action each time I come here, I can only say it’s well earned. There is no reason why the music has to be so loud it’s like a dance hall and the servers can’t hear the patrons unless they shout. There is a tall male cashier who may be mute, so I don’t want to offend him, but his distracted unengaged demeanor is plain old rude. A SMILE in greeting or some acknowledgement of the customer would go a long way. I spend $60-$120 each time I visit, and it vexes me because I really don’t like giving my money to a place where I am not welcomed, valued or treated well. Yet, I so want to continue to support our West Indian businesses. Yes, I agree with another reviewer about the taste of that chicken soup that is straight from heaven!! I literally hum with each spoonful when I get to the car and start in on it because I can’t wait to get home. I have a cucumber pineapple ginger blend from the juice fountain that the only nice server I have ever met there (summer 2024) had introduced me to with a sample. I have it every time since. No one had ever upsold me a product before or since. Yet it’s so easy to do. She’s long gone and replaced by another of the sour servers behind the counter. Owners/managers, you have a great business AND your staff is detracting from its reputation. They need to be trained or re-trained on how to provide exceptional customer experiences that delights your well deserving customers each and every time they patronize your...

Went inside golden krust two months ago for a beef patty n coco bread..the bread was fresher than the patty..patty was dry and hard..didn't taste fresh at all.. And that was the last resort because my 1st choice was a piece of salmon and some rice and a little bit of vegetables which came out to almost $18 wasn't even worth the price I know Solomon is expensive but not a very small piece of salmon and alot of rice that I was getting just to say I'm getting a plate of food..I might as well went to the market and buy it myself for a much lesser price..plus the individual that served me had a attitude because I felt that the price was too high for what I was getting..so I never went back..I enjoy good customer service and great food but unfortunately Golden Krust...you just lost a great customer..I know the difference between great customer service and hospitality..because I work in the food industry of Aramark foodservice LLC for 13+ years..Good Luck with your Business..I wish you well. Thank you for your kind words and I will definitely give you another try next time..I hope the customer service will be better than before..it was first time setting foot in your place of business and I love Golden Krust..I grew up eating Jamaican food as a young girl in my neighborhood in The Bronx on 225th St. White Plains Road..Little Jamaica it is now called that's where I'm from..I don't mind paying for my food..as long as there great customer service behind the food..that's what makes great food tastes excellent..where there's Love in your place of business there's Love in your food as well..there's nothing like a Home Cooked Meal from a place your call Home..that's what I look...

I went to this golden Krust like I always do and when I left my drink spilled because the cup wasn't closed completely. I spent $20 on soup and this drink and I went back into the store less than 1 minute and the manager came out and told me she's not giving me anything and when I asked her why not because I just left I didn't drink it it spilled due to the cap not being closed and she said she don't know what I did to it and then she started yelling at me telling me to buy another one or I can leave, and I was only gone for 1 minute! You can check the cameras! Even other customers stepped in to tell her she's wrong and she responded saying " MI SAID WAH MI SAID " and proceeded to scream at me , I couldn't even respond I was so disgusted by this so I just walked out and it's really wrong she did not refill my cup even though I didn't drink it and the store was closing so I could've got more being that I spend money here every week and I'm very sick and needed the drink. If the cap was closed properly it would've never fell and it spilled all in my car . All I wanted was a refill of the drink. And the manger totally was disgusted by me and screaming and so angry for no reason as soon as I came back inside . I will definitely call the higher up bosses about this. The cashier was very nice and she told me she wish she could give it to me but her boss wouldn't let her. Very evil for her to do that and I will be writing reviews to the bigger bosses and never come here again. I will take my money to the golden krust on...
