Just being honest… This is MY TRUTH…
Unappealing bar/lounge in an urban area. It’s no wonder these establishments don’t stand the test of time.
After the mandatory pat down it was ALL downhill from there…
Why didn’t I just leave???? Why?? Because
Service fell flat.. waiter had a nasty disposition and was inattentive (common in plenty of carribean establishments) even though it was EMPTY on a Sunday evening.
Bathroom..very poor lighting. No hand soap.. no paper towels..felt like I was using a subway bathroom during a blackout…
Dark/run down dining room
I must have been glutton for punishment….no I was tired of driving around looking for a quick bite so I settled and suffered.
Music. TOO loud.. couldn’t hear myself think or come to my senses to run out of there. The lackluster service didn’t help either.
No physical menu. They assume everyone has a smart phone. I’m on a fixed income and don’t have the luxury of using my phone to view the me menu. COVID is over but this place is still using that as an excuse to NOT provide paper menus.
Had to ASK for water.. thankfully I wasn’t in a hurry because it took FOREVERRRRR to arrive.
Nothing about the order was worth it. Between the taste and price, I could have just passed on dinner and saved time and money
Entrees… too many bone fragments in the chicken. The seafood seafood was burnt..I did not order burnt crusty fish…
Way too much butter in the rice…which tasted old…..DISGUSTING!
Plaintains were saturated in oil. Yes SATURATED…Greasy. They definitely fry everything in that same vat of grease.
Had to chase down the waiter for the bill who was too busy chatting…. and had the audacity to… automatically add a 18% tip AND they also charge an additional fee to use a debit/credit card… INSANE
This place was a huge waste of time and money…Needless to say, I will NOT dine...
Read moreI can only give a truthful review. I have to say the ambiance was beautiful. The older I believe was okay however is the time frame that they give you it's not conducive to the time frame that it takes for them to bring out your food it took 45 minutes just for the food to come out. We found restaurant on social media we went for brunch four of us they don't offer a substitute for alcohol the mimosas not everyone drinks they don't allow you to take the food out although you're paying for it the owner was insistent that we try his oatmeal however for those that have food allergies oatmeal does not work for everyone especially when it's made with dairy. The chicken and waffles were great, did saltfish, and callaloo was just callaloo, no saltfish. Everything was full of salt, including the shrimp and grits. The waitress couldn't get the orders. The correct food was forgotten, but you have a time frame . We see another couple get up and leave. Sadly, we will not be returning. We asked for a substitute, being that something wasn't available, and he said no, we can't do that . Outside of the orange juice and champagne mimosas everything else is an upcharge but clearly on the social media page that's being advertised that is not what's being said everything is an upcharge we came with the $50 in mine the social! media page looks like false...
Read moreWe opted to drive down Merrick to choose a restaurant. Sundays typically offer the best dining experiences. However, upon arrival, I hesitated; the establishment could benefit from a thorough cleaning. While not unsanitary, the bar area appeared disorganized, and glimpses into the kitchen revealed some disorder. Addressing these cleanliness and organization issues could significantly enhance the ambiance.
Despite this initial impression, the owner and one other staff member were exceedingly pleasant. Our waiter demonstrated remarkable efficiency, managing a larger workload than one might expect while delivering exceptional customer service. The restaurant offers an enticing brunch menu with unlimited options and mimosas. We indulged in a red sangria and the "deceitful" cocktail.
For $50 per person, guests can enjoy two brunch items and drinks. We opted to add oxtail and grits for an additional $10. Our selections included chicken and waffles, jerk steak and eggs, and ground provisions—all of which surpassed our expectations. The kitchen operated seamlessly, ensuring each dish was impeccably prepared. You will leave...
