If Gold Krust Caribbean Restaurant Management (GKCR) located on 4108 Farragut Road management is readying this post I recommend that you please take time to educate some of your staff on Excellent customer service. Over the past 3 years, almost on a weekly basis, I patronized the abovementioned GKCR. I would often spend a minimum of $20 or more per order for food for my co worker and I. On September 2, I had the taste for ackee, salfish and fried dumplings for breakfast. Please note this was not my first time in ordering the above items without any issue. During each visit, I was served by a friendly male employee is usually warm, friendly and exercised great business sense by charging me $10 rather than $15. On the above date, at approximately 8:30 AM, I went to the GKCR and ordered the usual a small portion of ackee, salfish and 2 fried dumplings. IMPORTANT NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: Not all customers that patronize your business for breakfast prefer to eat a full breakfast (lunch) ackee saltfish, banana, yam and dumplings. Unfortunately I had an encounter with a rude female employee. Upon placing my order, the female employee insisted that I pay $15 for the entire dish breakfast which included food items that I did not have an appetite to eat ( Dumplings, Yam, Banana). I explained to her that on several occasions I purchased the same aforementioned items from her male co-worker. She insisted that I purchase the aforementioned food items at $15. I understand GKCR has it rules but I found her attitude to be very dishearting especially knowing on numerous occasions in the late afternoons, I personally patronized this particular establishment and observed leftover ackee, saltfish and fried dumplings in the food display unsold. I explained to her I did not have an appetite for the other food items. I told her I did not want to order food that I had no interest in eating. I told her that co workers had previously accomodated me by charging $10 for the items I had requested. Rather than trying to accomodate my request she continued to instill that I pay $15 for food items I had no desire to eat. Out of frustration, I departed the above establishment and went to another Golden Krust Restaurant in the area. NOTE TO GKCR MANAGEMENT: Rather than allowing food to remain unsold because of hard nose unreasonable employee, I suggest you train your employees to use good business sense rather than excercising ignorance by insisting that the customer purchase food items that may not appealing to their taste buds. This type of business uncompromising hard nose attitude will cause you to lose loyal and dedicated customers. Subsequently, the unfortunate encounter, I went to the GKCR located on Nostrand Ave. When I told the management and staff members about the above incident, they commented that the situation was an unfortunate situation. Additionally, in addition to providing warm and welcoming service, they accomodated my request to purchase Ackee, Salfish and fried dumplings only. Lastly, I find it unfortunate that your employee exercised poor judgement and customer service. Instead of attempting to accomodate or please a loyal everyday customer, she focus on making a couple of dollars therefore losing out on the thousand of dollars in the future and along with keeping a loyal and customer. It is unfortunate this is the quality of service we often encounter within our own...
Read moreSomething is seriously wrong with the food here. I ate the stew chicken and it started to trigger my lymph nodes. My lymph nodes started shocking me a few minutes after eating. The curry goat did the same thing. And I bought from there again. A spicy patty and my face started breaking out. I'm allergic to rats so if I'm reacting this badly, then this place must be infested with rats. Or they're putting something toxic in the food. This is my best hypothesis. Also, they have very bad serving skills, I watched a server pick my bowl up and the guy had his entire thumb in my plate. I will not be buying...
Read moreI visited on 7/7/25 approximately 12noon. I inquired if they had spinach, the lady quickly stated something about spinach patty. Another guy informed her, no the vegetable spinach. Well needless to say this seemed to agitate the lady. Anything that I said from this point on was met with a seemingly rude reply. I mistakenly said bake she quickly let me know it was called a dumpling. Overall, the service was well below expectation, the food and atmosphere was...
