Amersfort Park is a nice little getaway in the heart of East Flatbush. There are plenty of benches to sit on, and a beautiful fountain to add to the picturesque ambience. There are no play grounds here, but that's fine if you're just looking for some peace and quiet. Paerdeget Park has the playground and ball field, and is only about two or three blocks away from Amersfort. The benches can use some work though, and so can the picnic tables, and most garbage cans were overflowing. There was also trash littered around certain spots, but not enough to ruin the serenity completely. A good cleanup and replacement of benches/tables would do wonders! Definitely come here! Read moreThis park is totally neglected, overgrown with weeds and tall grass, packed of aggressive tiger mosquitoes, and lightly sprinkled with trash. The fountains were off, and there were some sketchy folks hanging around even in the afternoon. We left pretty much immediately due to the mosquitoes and less than relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely not want to be there after dark. It's too bad, because it is a large green space with ample picnic tables and benches that could be very nice with some really basic upkeep by the city, yet is utterly forgotten...

Its still a relaxing and peaceful place to walk, ride a bike, scooter, roller skate or even play football, soccer and I've seen some kids play cricket. Sometimes there's movies playing in the park at night which is free for the whole neighborhood to see. I like to come to clear my mind and enjoying the presence.
