i know this isn't like 8th ave, flushing, or Manhattan Chinatown ... but have never been to a NYC Chinese Bakery that serves leftover breads, includes loose hair, and the two ladies at the counter are rude as hell. One lady went into a tirade because one of the nickels i paid with was oxidized and she thought it was a penny... like gypt her out of 4 cents apparent for a 50 dollar order of bread. We asked for basically 3 of most of their inventory, and the corn in the ham buns was almost as rock hard as uncooked, the rest of the breads from coconut cream to hot dogs bao to roast pork were clearly leftover and hardening also. I use to have every morning my coffee from this little corner bakery. Hot or ice both are the best. My daughter love the hot dog buns there I’m crazy for the custard bun,my son for the triangle sandwich and custard tart, my hubby for the pineapple roll. We tried everything ! One morning I walked in and was about to great the owner and immediately asked me (what you want?) instead of saying good mornin or hello and I order my stuff and an Asian guy walked in right before me and got greeted by the owner I’ve been going there for 12 plus years.
