Mama Lupe Dominican Food — Restaurant in New York

My Haitian husband, and my Puerto Rican self thoroughly enjoyed their salmon, pollo guisado, rice, beans, and asopao de pollo was legit delicious. Will definitely return for another night of my not having to cook, enjoying comfort food that reminds me of home.

After quite a few months picking up food, we noticed the prices change per visit and per food item. Today, for example, the small aluminum I was told was $8-$9 the mid-size one $10. I ordered the beef stew with rice and beans, and she said it's $12. When asking why, she said because of the type of meat. I took the smaller one and she charged $11?

I came to get some mofongo with pork and a medium size of beans and the guy charged $16.25. in the city on Madison and 109th street I paid for same order $9. In Brooklyn on Myrtle Ave. I paid for one chicken and pork mofongo with a medium size of beans all $24.52. When I asked at Mama Lupe for the menu, I was told there is none because of prices constantly changing. On their website the pork mofongo is $8 but he asked for $12 and $4 for the beans…way more!!! DONT TRUST THIS STORE WITH WHAT...

This is a hidden little gem of a place. Their combo meals are amazing and so worth the money. Keep in mind all their combos are $2 more than said price on menu. My whole family is obsessed with the food their, especially their pernil and potato salad and my family is super chinese! Their beef stew is so flavorful and the rice and beans....Ohmigod so good.
