I grew up running to get ice cream when Mister Softee came around in the neighborhood as a kid so it’s always a fond memory I look back on. Now that I no longer live in NY but visiting, I wanted to get a cone for my son if I ever saw a Mister Softee. Unfortunately, I regret having bought it after this experience. I went to Dumbo, Brooklyn today and I happened to see a Mister Softee truck there. I ordered 2 single cones and he said $10 by accident and then he said $14 😒 and obv that was sketch but it was hot and it was my fault for not asking the price first.. $7 for ONE CONE… 🫠 whatever. But later that evening, my son and one other person I bought the ice cream cone for had stomach aches and diarrhea. Everytime I have one it takes me back to my childhood. Hearing the mister softee music coming down the block every kid would stop whatever we were doing and running to our buildings and Yelling for our mothers to throw down some money Because the ice cream man is coming.
