I ordered the cake on Thursday because all the other cake shops were closed due to it being a holiday. I came here to order a cake they told me I had to get a bigger cake than I wanted to put the picture I wanted on it, sure no problem. They were a bit rushed even though no one was in there but me & like one other lady but she wasn’t ordering anything just getting a regular pastry or whatever. I was a little off put by how the owner was speaking to me but I didn’t say anything (I should have) I’m not sure if she was the owner but the younger lady taking my order kept asking her questions so I guessed she was the boss. On top of being rushed they didn’t ask me what specific things I wanted on the cake besides the picture & I don’t know much about cakes being that this was a cake shop I expected them to know & guide me. They didn’t. Didn’t even get my name right after me spelling it multiple times. Besides that I called the day I was picking up the cake to make sure everything was okay because I never got any updates not sure why they asked for my number if they weren’t going to keep me posted about anything. I called at 11am because I was schedule to pick it up at 12pm, the young lady on the phone told me they weren’t ready & to come at 12:30/1. That was fine. I got a call back by the older women about 10mins later she was very rude & I could barely understand her because of her accent so I kept having to ask her to repeat herself on top of that she was rushing me off the phone even though she called me, she was upset when I asked her to repeat herself she told me the man hadn’t even started my cake yet & to come at 1:30/2pm good thing I didn’t need the cake until around 5 or 6, she hung up the phone after she told me when to come & that it needed time to chill. I finally picked up the cake I asked her was it ready she didn’t even address me when I greeted her she yelled for the younger woman to get the cake for me. She gave me the cake & I noticed the trimming or accents were red. They never asked me what color I wanted I didn’t even realize it would be accents on the cake but they put it anyway. My picture I gave them was mostly hot pink & neon green so of course the red didn’t match & the person I got the cake for didn’t like red, I was a little upset but me being the person I am I didn’t fuss because I figured I should have known but since I was being rushed the day I ordered I didn’t get a chance to tell them what trimming color I wanted & I didn’t know much about cakes so I didn’t realize it would be a trimming. Anyway, the cake tasted like a sponge with hard butter cream on it. The cake was so hard it was very hard to cut into. My guest didn’t finish it, the person who I ordered the cake for, for their surprise party didn’t finish it either. The cake was $65 for something that wasn’t even close to worth it. This party was very important because it was for someone who never had a birthday party so it hurt me that they didn’t enjoy the cake & of course no one wants to buy something that no one even enjoyed. This place may be good for other but for me it was horrible & I don’t even write reviews by my experience made me want...
Read moreNot so long ago, that these pastries in the premises were taste so great. Although, with the whipped buttercream and fruits all over were tantalizing. But, even though as I paid $30USD for the birthday cake that was due on the 16 of November, 2018. I thought that one the bakers were making the cake on the 14 or the 15 of this month, which it wasn't so bad after all.
There is one or 2 missteps that occur on baking process. As I call to make an order for the birthday cake that will be due on the 16, and I ordered it with a whipped buttercream and fruits on top and on the side, what do they do? They decide not to follow up the order whatever I asked for, and they put a standard sugary cream or boiled vanilla sugar frosting which is not ordered by me. They made the cake immediately after I told them that the cake is due on November 16th, and left the cake there with fruits on top or on the side for 5 or 6 days later. That would never be a good idea to do that right a way after a request cake order due for later days. My advice to these bakers is that next time when I place a cake order for anyone wether is my siblings, my parents, my friends, my co-workers or cousins, that cake must be made 1 or 2 days prior to due date. No matter if anyone or myself called any headbaker or any available baker to place a cake order earlier that week, then once again it must be made 1 or 2 days prior to due...
Read moreI recently bought two 8" birthday cakes from Morrise Park Bake Shop within a week, and both were excellent! The tiramisu cake was especially delicious, and I just picked up a red velvet cake for my wife's birthday—it was perfectly baked and tasted amazing. We’re not fans of overly sweet cakes, so the shop owner made it a bit less sweet for us, and everyone loved it! The cake was finished on the spot.
What I love most about Morrise Park Bake Shop is the focus on flavor. While many bakeries focus on decoration at the expense of taste, here, the cake itself is incredible. A few weeks ago, I bought a nicely decorated cake from a different bakery just a few blocks away, but it was disappointing. Morrise Park Bake Shop is the real deal for anyone who values quality and flavor.
The owner and staff are also fantastic—friendly and welcoming. The owner even offered samples of other cakes before I ordered the red velvet. If you're looking for great-tasting cakes, I highly...
