Update 7/16/21 My fiance wanted Mother's Seafood & More so I gave in and ordered (Through UberEats) some with his favorite drinks the Homemade Sweet Tea. I don't know who called me (Female Voice), but she needs to be trained in handling issues when your company is out of product. She told me they don't have any Sweet Tea, but I can substitute it for something else. I told her I took a chance at ordering today and I don't want anything just refund the amount. She said they don't do that. I said why? If you don't have any product you have to refund the money. She told me to hold on ( which I waited a min) then she comes back and told me she'll call back (Which she didn't). The food arrived with Snapple Lemone Tea🤮 and we don't drink Snapple of any kind. It's wrong to charge people for something you didn't order when they told you to refund it. Now I have to wait 3-10 days to get my refund. That's bad business. Thank God for UberEats. If it wasn't for them I would of felt completely robbed.
Update 6/14/21 I'm not satisfied with Mother's Seafood & More for not being understanding. I order frequently for Mother's Seafood & More but I'm not satisfied with the inconsistencies in food and customer service. Whenever I order I usually get the Baked chicken with mac & cheese and other sides. Last week you took it out of the combo options so I had to pay extra to get it. Now this week it's apart of the combo plus if you spend $20 of more then you'll get a free order of mac and cheese. I didn't notice that I had to add it to the order. I called the restaurant to speak to the manager since they've been helpful in the past and the lady in the phone said her manager said they can't help I have to contact UberEats. This is a wake up call that I need to Stop Ordering Out and Cook like I was planning
I made an order through UberEats to get from Mother's Seafood & More. They called me almost an hour later to tell me all the food they ran out of food and then said we don't have any food left that I have to contact UberEats to cancel my order to get my money back because they can't fulfill the order. This is crazy I wanted them to redeem themselves from some bad orders in the past. Between the food being up and down and the staff handling with resolving issues I'm done with Mother's Seafood & more/ S&S. UPDATE: I've changed my rating due to the quick response and handling of the situation. Thank you so much Mother's for getting back to me when I couldn't get a response...
Read moreA few weeks ago First and foremost the reason I'm writing this post is because not only the employees were rude and unprofessional. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant I came here because my parents told me about it.I was in the mood for seafood everybody was hungry let's go. I walk in they were two person, ahead. As I was standing there I noticed everyone must order, pay then wait. Nothing strange about that "right"? This nothing new. I did the same. but this is the catch. I stood waiting for close to 25 minutes watching other people walking in and out and Uber eats, doors dash get there food. Being very patient.Thinking I just spent $89 maybe the attention would be given soon its a big order. but no.finally young lady say there is items that I ordered that is not available anymore it has run out. I'm thinking I been here pretty long and saw those items being shared out earlier. Then the young lady at register said would I be willing to take substitutes. Fine I say already tired of waiting.15 more minutes go by this time I asked for my money back. I ask to speak to management crickets 🦗 The young lady said do see the sign no refund. I said no I did not see that. But that is beside the point you haven't even given me my food. She looks at me and says they are bagging your food now. No they wasn't. I said so you holding me hostage and I can't get food or my money.( still waiting for the food. All the workers walking back and forth looking at me viciously as if I was not supposed to be upset or annoyed. Finally after the long wait and aggravation. No money back they hand me my bag of food no apologies no courtesy no customer service skills nothing. The Icing on the cake is when I got home I received nothing I ordered(not even the substitute) and the food I did get taste old and look like pot scrapping horrible that's what I got for $89 close to $100 spent at this establishment. I love to support black owned businesses especially Caribbean. But the lack of respect and professionalism . Your doing no favors we the customer is who hold you up. It's about the principle and the $89 money I spent on food for my family. I work hard for my money, especially in these times I don't have money to waste. You need employee training in customer service and better food management and rotation so food don't run out or get...
Read moreAt Mother's, the culinary experience fell significantly short of expectations. The fried chicken, typically a cornerstone of soul food, was disappointingly soggy and lacked any notable seasoning, resulting in a flavorless dish. It was tough and hard to chew, leading me to throw it away. The catfish, while marginally better in texture, was marred by a bitter taste, possibly due to overcooking or the use of old oil, which can impart an unpleasant aftertaste to fried foods.
The sweet potatoes, rather than providing the expected balance of natural sweetness and spice, were overwhelmed by syrup and sugar, creating an overly saccharine dish. The macaroni and cheese, a staple that should offer creamy, cheesy comfort, was an epic failure, missing the mark on texture and taste. After eating, my belly rumbled uncomfortably, adding to the overall disappointment.
In contrast, a good soul food experience, especially a fish fry, should offer crispy, well-seasoned fried chicken with a golden crust that gives way to juicy, flavorful meat. The catfish should be perfectly fried, with a crunchy exterior and tender, flaky interior, seasoned to enhance the fish's natural taste without any bitterness.
Sweet potatoes should be soft and buttery, with just the right amount of sweetness balanced by spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Macaroni and cheese should be a rich, creamy blend of cheeses, enveloping tender pasta, and baked to achieve a perfect, slightly crispy top layer.
In essence, soul food should evoke comfort and satisfaction, embodying rich flavors, balanced seasoning, and perfect textures. Unfortunately, Mother's missed the mark on this...
