There’s so much to unpack about this place, so I’m just going to start. We started ordering from this place starting in 2019. We were recommended by a friend because our local spot had closed down. We were told that they were good, fast and priced well. We tried them and it became our new take out spot. They are located in South Ozone and we are located in Jamaica, a 10 minute drive. They had always delivered to us with no issues up until issues with the delivery driver started. There are 4 of us that order from this spot. Myself, my sister that lives 7 mins from me, and my parents and sister who live around the corner from me. They deliver to the sister that lives further away with no issues, but refuse to deliver to us over here. The problem with the delivery driver is this: The problem is when my sister (with my parents) orders for delivery. We tip based on services provided by the driver and as always tips are OPTIONAL and however much we tip is ALSO optional. We have no issues tipping. The driver would always harass/rush my sister for tip whenever we would get our food from him. Already being rushed to be given a tip is a no tip from me because why are we being rushed. But to be nice anyways she would still give a tip even though we absolutely despise being rushed and no one should be rushed for anything. We’re not trying to drop our food. So then we give them less of the tip for being rushed (when really he wouldn’t have gotten anything for rushing without giving a chance to get it together). He then complains to her about what she gave him. Note, half the time she’s picking it up for someone else like our parents and it’s their money she’s giving. Whatever they tell her to give is what she gives cause it’s not always her money. He always argues with her about it and she tells him why. He shouldn’t be rushing or even asking about tip. He’s supposed to let the customer give it to him when they’re ready to as the transaction is proceeding. Not hound them about it before we even get the chance to get the money out to pay for the food. Again, she also gives tips based off what parents say. Then he complains of how hard of a drive it was, but again we are only 10 mins away from the store by drive and he doesn’t have issues driving to the other sister who is further away on the same street. It’s literally a straight drive from where we are. So what’s the difference? They still deliver to the other sister but not us. The problem wasn’t the restaurant but the delivery person because it would always be an issue with him. We felt like he complained about us and got them to stop delivering to us. I’m pretty sure they already pay him well to deliver, why is he harassing and rushing customers for tip? Doing that results in NO TIP for many people. The restaurant started to become the problem when they backed up that delivery driver and also wanted to tell us they don’t deliver to us cause it’s too far or out of their zone (all while delivering to my sister that lives further away from us). Yet their marketing will always text me to go and order from them. They attach phone numbers to their customers addresses, so it’s not like they don’t know that I live in the location they claim to not deliver to. How you invite me to order from your store and then proceed to tell me that I’m out of your zone when I try to order? We’ve been ordering since 2019 and it has never been an issue until the delivery person. As far as the food goes, it’s decent, but they get stingy with duck sauce, their food has become bland as time went on, and many times their brown sauce has had too much oyster or fish sauce in it. We still always gave them a try despite that because out of many others they were the better option. But now they completely lost our business because they decided to not listen to our concerns about the delivery zone and their driver. Mind you we had 4 orders. So we all threw the good away and called the restaurant. The lady who took our order immediately got offended and accused us of putting it there and I told her I will bring it back to the restaurant and show her..she got more rude then I lost it..i told her I am coming to punch her in her nose..low and behold she simmered down and said the manager will call me.
