Today was the second time I've eaten from Silver Star Roti and it was everything I expected and more! I purposely invited friends so we can get different plates to try and it was all delicious, hearty and I can tell it was cooked with love.
The curry chicken is mild and flavourful. The aroma it releases the next day is exquisite. The rotti is by far the tasty thing I've ever eaten. The lamb and beef in gravy (sorry I don't know the name) was also very good. The lamb had that fresh taste I often don't enjoy but the way this restaurant repairs it was good. My kid destroyed the fried chicken and rice. I've never had rice and beans the way they prepare it. It may look dry but it isn't. Its moist, flavourful and aromatic. The chicken fried rice was delicious.
Now the drinks. The Sorrel with ginger will clear out your sinuses! Though a bit "Spicey", never the less delicious. My kid had the mango drink, also very good.
For desert we had their house fudge. As soon as I got the taste of dulce de Leche and notes of nutmeg and clove, I was brought back to my childhood days during Christmas time! What a treat.
The service is also something to take notice of. They are tentative, the place is very clean and the owner was so polite. I will definitely pass along the information to family and friends.
Please try this place out. It will not be the last time eating at Silver Star Roti Shop. Can't wait to see what their holiday cakes are like.
Thank you guys for the incredible food. My compliments...
Read moreSo I came to this restaurant to order chicken curry. The man working here didn’t even mention that they had a lunch special for the chicken curry. While he was dishing it, I saw it and asked him for the lunch special. He was a bit irritated. He tells me “I already took out the rice but it’s supposed to be less rice than this and I already put dhal so I can’t take it out”. Something along those lines. How petty can you be? He also said it’s only 3 pieces of chicken which is fine but I saw him looking for the boniest pieces of meat to give me. The food was good. However, I believe that if you guys dont want to tell someone about the lunch special when the sign is in the back that’s...
Read moreTonight was my first time trying Silver Star. My first impression was Randy answering the phone, what can I say, he was truly a professional and so welcoming. I usually go to another roti shop(that I won't name)but they were always so rude, worst customer service. But then a coworker of mine told me about Silver Star. Roti was awesome. We also tried the pine tart, very good as well. Will definitely go back and try other food on their menu. Big kudos to Randy for representing Silver Star, they say first impressions mean something, he proves this to be true. Great experience...
