ide give it one star but the workers are nice and respectful. However this place is not what it used to be. I stopped coming here for a long time probably almost a year and i decided to test my luck yesterday and go in for a sandwich, assuming that an improvment happend over time. Wrong. I ordered the DJ khalid, i was starving. First i called 15 minutes before i arrived so my food can be done when i get there. The guy didnt put my order in. Ok i waited 20 minutes for my sandwich, and when i tell u sloppy. i dont think sloppy isnt the word, the sandwich was soggy with alot of grease, terrible soggy lettuce, soggy everything, it looked like everything was just thrown in the sandwich. i get it, the store gets packed and people get impatient, people like me lol. But to receive a sloppy messed up sandwich, most of it fell out the bread. They rush and make the food too fast. thats what happend last time i ordered a bacon cheeseburger and they made it so fast the meat wasnt cooked all the way. Idk how people still say they make the “best sandwiches” in the bronx… i beg to differ. Not anymore. unless u like sloppy messy...
Read moreA good neighborhood deli and convenience store. If you're looking for a good hero sandwich and don't know where to go in the Morris Park Avenue area then stop in here for sandwich made right. Sal will make you a great sandwich exactly how you want it. Hot or cold he'll oblige you. They have chips and soda and snacks of various types and candy and cigarettes. You can even play the lottery while you wait for sandwich to be made.
Stop on by and give them a try. Just be patient as this place can get very crowded with customers around breakfast and lunch time. Hassan is the guy who works the cash counter during the day and he's pretty funny when he hurries Sal and the guys to speed through making the sandwiches. He's got a knack with lighting a fire under the guys when the place gets busy. Just don't take offense to him as he only wants to get the customers in and out as quickly...
Read moreTheir Sandwiches are top of the line. Though they get really busy in the a.m rush hour aswell as the late afternoon. Its best to call ahead. Yet even if they mess up your sandwich because too much traffic dont get mad at them, you just speak to them and they will gladly help you. They have been in business over 30 years and every day it just gets better. No other deli even in that area can compete with them as much as they try to renovate their store. I would give them 10 stars but sadly i can not. By the way they speak spanish. So dont try anything funny by speaking about them in spanish. They might be arabic but that doesnt mean they cant hold a...
