Karen the manager
The experience was not pleasant. Visited this restaurant recently and stayed out doors. The waiter was kind, she presented us with the brunch and dinner menu. One of us wanted to order the smoked salmon dish that was not immediately identified as raw fish. The menu was not clear. Most of us decided to order from here. We spent a total of $137.
I decided after reviewing the menu and requesting accommodations for dietary restrictions, and being denied, I order from door dash. I didn’t think it would be a problem because we were eating outside. 10 minutes into the meal, we were met by a manager, who said we couldn’t eat outside food in this establishment. As we were talking, we got carried away and began nibbling again. We were met by another manager, rude and aggressive. She began to go off yelling that we can’t eat other food here. She presented a valid argument that it’s a health concern, than she began to go off tangent and made herself a victim. She said that it was disrespectful to eat other food there and she felt disrespected even though this was the first time we spoke to her. Also she did not maintain a 6 feet distance. I was appalled at the fact that she made us eating out side food about her. She also made statements that were not necessary like if you don’t like our food you can go to another place. If you don’t like our food you can take the other food to the park or home. Completely rude and aggressive. It definitely did not reach this level, we remained calm. My experience here was disgusting and of course the question of race has to be presented. If we were white women, would we have been approached with such aggression? I guess that’s up for any white people to test. Certainly wished I recorded that disgusting moment. Our waiter apologized for the manager’s behavior.
The food is ok, price is expensive not worth it. Menu is not clear, you have to ask the specifics for every item to know what’s inside.
After my experience today, I called the manager and she repeated everything she said in person then apologized if I took any offense. She asked if we could be done and hung up on me. This manager is a disgrace. She didn’t think that her comments were offensive. She also told me that she doesn’t care if I write a bad review. I don’t right bad reviews, I am just writing on...
Read moreIt was our first time at Osteria. We kept passing by it since we live about 4 blocks from there. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and we would've ate inside except they said their AC wasn't working and it was 90 degrees so we ate in their outdoor area. The menu looked impressive but we were quickly disappointed when we received our food. We ordered a Mediterranean salad and it was so ordinary. Way too much vinegar and it was served a bowl the size the you would pour cereal in. The taste of the salad and the small portion was a preview into the entrees. I ordered the pasta Norma and my husband had the fettuccine bolognese. Again the pasta bowls were so small and it would've been fine if the pasta dishes were delicious but alas they were not. The sauce was so sweet and I hate sweet food, especially when it doesn't belong there . I understand that sometimes sugar is used in tomato sauce but you shouldn't be able to taste it. I really tried to like it because I was hungry but I had to send it back. It was the same with the bolognese but we didn't want to send back both dishes. The service was good and the waitress was nice but not enough to return here. For the portion size the menu is way overpriced. We...
Read moreOpening Service was lovely, they seemed to really want to start you off with the full experience - the service throughout can be a little much with many questions on whether you are enjoying your meal - this may be because I was alone or a way to check if you are finished and to bring your next course. Gorgeous interior with some ambient music playing to set a mood.
Trio bruschetta: I first notice the tomatoes and herbs it is overflowing and unwieldy to eat spillage is unavoidable but taste is nice, fresh tomatoes, the next is the, prosciutto, and feta, this is delicious with fresh tasting cheese, that could almost be made in house, lastly the mushrooms and cheese was fantastic the fungi cooked to perfection, a standout amongst the lot was the fresh delicious bread base.
Fettuccine Bolognese: Very obviously Homemade pasta a distinct mouthfeel and taste, natural fresh also cooked to a nice al dente, and a slow cooked meat sauce with definite care put in, I also liked how neither part was too much it was balanced between sauce and pasta very...
