Saddest part about my review is that I come here VERY often. My last visit I wasn’t to satisfied with the cleanliness of my bed and sheets. Recycling sheets and pillows after a long time of being used, is completely unsanitary. A low budget hotel or not, there’s certain requirements when running an establishment like so. Also, I just currently came here and I’ve never heard of a hotel that doesn’t let you check in until 4 pm especially when check out for previous over night guests is at 12 pm. No one can wait in the lobby. I took 2 hours to get here and I’m pregnant, the receptionist explained that I couldn’t wait until check in time which was only a hour to come after my arrival. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. With the amount of funds this hotel receives everyday there is no reason that you guys still have yet to buy new things, upgrade items and at least train your workers with common courtesy. Honestly, if this problem persists... as a active member of the community board, I will gladly bring this problem to their attention and push for a thorough investigation. As I said it’s understood what type of low class establishment you guys are running but professionalism and hospitality should still be a must especially when I’m spending my money...
Read moreVERY GOOD HOTEL IF YOU ARE TRAVELING ON A BUDGET!
I stayed at this hotel with a friend while we were trying to save as much money as possible. We were lucky to find this hotel, which offers the best price you can find in Manhattan. The hotel is simple, so don’t expect a luxurious stay. I recommend the large room with a shared bathroom as it offers the best value. If you need more privacy, you can opt for a room with a private bathroom, but honestly, the shared bathroom is quite good—very clean and rarely used. (If you are a woman or traveling with a woman, you might want to choose a room with a private bathroom.)
The location is definitely the best part—just a 5-minute walk to Central Park and the subway station. It’s also a great base for exploring the Upper West Side and Harlem.
To go into more detail about the hotel itself, as mentioned, it’s very simple but also inexpensive (for NYC). The staff is not particularly friendly, but they are respectful. You might encounter some unusual things, but since you'll likely be exploring the city all day, you’ll only be using the hotel to sleep and leave in the morning.
In summary, it’s a very good option if you want to save as much money as possible and spend the whole day...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever received in my life. Front desk staff are all extremely rude and argumentative. They seem to go out of their way to look for reasons to be confrontational; even when not provoked or even addressed at all in the first place. Every single staff member working there was not helpful in the slightest way possible... Staff, from front desk to the cleaning people, have no problem personally & verbally attacking hotel guests who they feel may have "disrespected" them in some way, and have no problem throwing you out of your already rented room over the smallest perceived annoyance. There are fights (verbal and physical) and drug deals going on all night long, in the halls directly outside of the rooms you sleep in. So it's always loud, never quiet... Which the staff is fully aware of, yet chooses to take no action in stopping or even acknowledging. This place is the worst of the worst. I could go on but I'll leave it at this; I hope you never have the displeasure of having to spend a night in this...
