I walked in at 3pm on a Saturday, and honestly I wish I had just walked right back out. The woman working clearly didn’t want to be there — she dragged herself inside like she was being forced at gunpoint, stood in front of the food with the energy of someone who hated their life, and said absolutely nothing. Nothing was labeled, nothing was explained. It was like I was inconveniencing her by being there.
The “food selection” (if you can even call it that) was pathetic. She vaguely mentioned sides in the back but couldn’t be bothered to actually tell me what they were. The mac and cheese was sitting uncovered like a science experiment. The top layer was cold, crusty, and hard as a brick — my plastic fork literally snapped trying to break through it. The bottom layer? Lukewarm, sad, and slimy. I wouldn’t feed that to a stray cat.
Then there was the curry goat. Wow. Hands down the worst goat I’ve ever tasted in my life — and I’ve eaten goat in a lot of places. This one tasted like mystery meat mixed with funk. Not “seasoned goat” funk, I mean this meat is questionable funk. If you told me it was old halal meat reheated three times, I’d believe it.
The food was so nasty I sat there in complete silence, just chewing and regretting every decision that led me to this moment. $24 for what? For me to punish myself? Easily the worst money I’ve ever spent on food. And when I left — after being polite enough to say “thank you, have a good day” — she just stared at me with the dead-eyed look of someone mad I even existed.
This place is a joke. Unprofessional, unwelcoming, and straight-up disgusting. Save your money. Honestly, save your dignity too. You’d be better off buying gas station food — at least there it comes...
Read moreOk, I want to start off by saying that even IF the food wasn’t good from here the customer service was IMMACULATE!!! Now I say that to say this. Delicious is an UNDERSTATEMENT at this place wow wow wow. Ive been with my west Indian boyfriend for 5 years now. He has taken me to plenty Guyanese chinese restaurants but THIS PLACE ????? NONE of them compare to this place man. The reviews drew me to this place and the food DID NOT DISAPPOINT NOT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST. WOW WOW WOW. KUDOS to the owners of this place. They told me that I will come back, and you know what? THEY WERE RIGHT. Ill never go to another guyanese chinese restaurant ever again. From the amazing customer service to the delicious food AND, YES AND the PORTIONS?? man. I literally have nothing but good things to say about this place. DO NOT WALK, RUN!! Im telling you! Me and my boyfriend got to this place ONE HOUR before closing and I was afraid we would get food thats been out all day and it wouldnt be so great, NOPE. Fresh, delicious, and warming. They even gave us a complimentary dessert made in house. From the appetizers, to the main course, all the way DOWN to the dessert. CHEFS KISS. THANK YOU WE WILL BE BACK 100% !! Sorry i dont have pictures WE DOGGED IT DOWN. By the way, to the people in the front that greeted us thank you for treating us like youve known us...
Read moreI was referred to this spot by a friend, and I’m so glad I gave it a try! This was my first time tasting Guyanese Chinese cuisine, and it definitely did not disappoint.
Chicken Fried Rice – 5/5! The standout for me was how they fried the chicken separately and then added it to the fried rice. It felt fresher and crispier compared to the usual one-pot fried rice. Absolutely loved it.
Shrimp Chow Mein – The flavor here was unique, unlike anything I’ve had before. It had a richness that really grew on me the more I ate it. Very delicious and satisfying.
But the real star of the meal was the Dhal with Roti. I’ve never had it quite like this before, and it was easily my favorite dish of the night. The dhal was perfectly spiced, and the roti was so soft and fresh. Highly recommend!
I’ll definitely be back to explore more...
