This is the fourth and final chance we give Terrone. The first two times were at the pre-launch and soft launch, when they only served pizza. The pre-launch was outside on the patio and the pizzas took a long time with their outdoor oven; and our pizzas during soft launch were undercooked but the owner kindly resolved it. The owner is super nice, kid-friendly, and a big part of the community; so we brushed it off as opening growing pains.
Third time was to try their full menu. The manager was hosting at the time and gave us attitude as a walk-in. She sat the four of us outside but the wind blew away our menus, so we told her we’d prefer a table inside. We waited on the couch but she didn’t give us an estimate or even checked in on us at all. After we were sat at a table inside, the manager took our initial orders and we didn’t see her again except to swipe our credit cards; we had to flag other servers to take our second drink orders and to request our bill. Our pastas were burnt on the ends, not al dente, hard and crispy as if they were kept warm in an oven or under a heat lamp. We already had a terrible reception, we decided not to say anything.
After hearing the food was better, we decided to try again. My beef fillet was under-seasoned or not at all, tasted like the kitchen reheated it in the sauce. Total opposite, the potatoes were too salty. One of the servers asked why I didn’t finish, I told him the steak was bland but it was fine and the fries were too salty. He said he would’ve been happy to fix it and I responded that I didn’t want to make a big deal of it. He went to the manager, who proceeded to argue with us at the table, in the middle of the restaurant, in front of other patrons - not my business if she wants everyone to hear how bad the food is. She made a snarky remark that I complained after I ate my dish, to which I replied: 1) I told the server I didn’t want to make a big deal, 2) I don’t like to waste food, and 3) even so, I didn’t eat the potatoes because they were inedible. She interrupted me and tried to “school me” on how they prepare their fillet; well, it clearly wasn’t done properly. We weren’t even looking for a refund, I just honestly answered my server when asked why I didn’t finish my food.
The food has been inconsistent and underwhelming, especially for the price, but her lack of customer service is the nail in the coffin. I hope our server doesn’t have to share with her the tip we left. Never eating there again, no matter how much we...
Read moreI had the worst dining experience in my life on a Thanksgiving day. We made a reservation for Thanksgiving prefix dinner, and confirmed that we are set for 5:30. When we arrived at 5:15 the restaurant was full, and we were informed to wait for a little bit.
We waited until 5:50 and then spoke to a lady working here to understand what was going on. We were returned with a rude attitude that dinner is not served on a reservation and it is just whoever comes first. She didn’t let us speak, keep cutting our words saying they can bring table right in front of exit sign toward the corner or wait another 30+ minutes. By this time we weren’t happy how we were being treated and asked for the person in charge we could speak to. She refused to answer us and left us saying that she needs to work.
We didn’t want to waste our energy anymore and asked for a refund so we can go back home empty stomach.
Not only we were treated with a bad attitude, we wasted our time and experience on Thanksgiving just to watch other people eating for an hour.
I don’t think I would forget this Thanksgiving day where this rude lady making it our fault for telling them when we are coming and be on time before reserved time. It is very unfortunate our neighborhood restaurant turning into a place to avoid.
(Update) I received refund editing my comment regarding it. I am not sure how the manager got impression of us not in a good mood when we entered. We were told to take a sit and wait and we didn’t say a word until it was 5:50 which was 20 minutes after the time we gave. The table you were referring was not there when we checked-in, we would have happily taken the table if it was there. The table was offered because we complained about the wait which at first she offered to put the table next to sofa, which would make it very uncomfortable to eat and not fair considering we are paying the same price. And then the manager offered us to set up a new table by the exit sign, which we were already not happy with what was going on. I understand it would been a busy day, but it would have been nicer if we were notified upon entering that ‘sorry’ we didn’t expect these many people show up right when we opened, you may need to wait long or otherwise we could serve you at a different table. Instead you waited us to start asking when we could be seated. I am not sure how you are so sure about nothing went wrong this day, when you were not...
Read moreI visited Terron this morning for the breakfast buffet. Overall, it was an okay experience—about 3 to 3.5 out of 5 stars. For two people, the total cost was $63.15 (buffet + tax). Since it’s entirely self-serve, they didn't ask for tips. You grab your own water, utensils, and napkins, and you pay your bill when you leave, similar to a diner system.
Upon entering, the owner greeted us and directed us to our seats, which was a nice touch. However, I was a bit hesitant because the table wasn’t very clean. There were visible dried marks on the table, though no food crumbs. I decided to use a napkin instead of asking for assistance.
As for the food, the overall quality was good, and there were plenty of options to choose from. I enjoyed the sausages, egg dishes (boiled eggs, small omelets, scrambled eggs), and breads. The prosciutto and smoked salmon were especially fresh and flavorful. For dessert, I tried yogurt and fruit, which were excellent. However, the donut-like dessert (resembling a cream-filled munchkin) was very dry and disappointing.
For drinks, I had juice and drip coffee, which were standard diner quality. If you’re looking for better coffee, they do offer espresso and espresso-based drinks upon request.
There are a few areas for improvement:
Cleanliness: Although it’s self-serve, tables weren’t being cleaned regularly. There also wasn’t a designated place to put used dishes, so I had to ask the owner. While he eventually moved them, I noticed other customers using the same plates to refill their food.
Attention to Detail: Some things could have been better managed. For example, the mozzarella mini ball dish had no serving spoon until the owner noticed and brought one. Similarly, at the coffee/tea station, there were no labels for the coffee, hot water, or milk, which caused some confusion.
In summary, the experience was okay. The price is reasonable, and I’d say the buffet offers breakfast comparable to a 3-star hotel. If you’re having a lazy morning and want a quick breakfast with decent variety, I’d recommend Terron’s...
