Gantry Plaza State Park Recreational Dock — Attraction in New York

Was visiting for the 1st time last summer. Excellent neighborhood spot for everyone, near and far. Location is one of the best for all that it could offer, Manhattan Eastside skyline, by the East River, great spaces, lenghty and scenic walks (boardwalks, paved walks, terrain walks, etc.), exercise nook on a nice spot, beach volleyball court, lounging chairs with excellent panoramic views, great photo-op spots... We parked by the streets within a minute or 2 walk to the Riverside. The length of Gantry is unbelievably long for this urban plaza and oh, enough variety for the Queens town folks for the melting pot as it is. Clean. Airy. Scenic. Accessible. Commutable. Nice, quaint, and relatively quiet area with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. Super easy to get to from the expressway and plenty of street pay meter parking as well as free parking after 8pm. There’s is also a lot of areas for pedestrian walk ways. Despite going to this park in hopes off seeing the Tribute in Lights, we were disappointed to find the fog had completely blocked any views past Gramercy Park, on the opposite side of the bay. Beautiful accessible park in Queens. On the water with sweeping view of Manhattan. Lush flowers and trees that are well cared for. Plenty of areas to walk or sit and relax.
