I live down the block and have been shopping here for years with relatively positive experiences. Unfortunately I will no longer be giving this place my business. On 8/26/25 I went in and purchased a $10 container of Cocojune yogurt. I opened this container on 8/28 to discover it was completely watery with clumps of yogurt inside. No matter how much stirring I did, it remained completely liquid. I have videos of this but can only post screenshots here. Sadly I had tossed the receipt the day of purchase because I wasn’t expecting any of my food to have been bad (this has never happened to me here). However, because the purchase had been made and linked to my partner’s phone number / account, and he had the transaction date and $ on his phone, I thought they would be able to verify it was me and allow me a return or exchange. This was not the case, and they were completely inflexible.
I understand if I was returning due to personal preference, but I was returning because what they had sold me was not what I had purchased. I know they have security cameras plastered everywhere, since they do such a good job of posting the faces of people who steal. But they somehow can’t use that to verify my purchase. I know they track $ spent through your account with them, but they cannot verify my purchase using my account. In this day and age, against other grocery stores like Trader Joe’s or Costco who do not need a physical receipt to return BAD food, this is unacceptable. If you require a receipt to refund food that you shouldn’t even be selling in the first place, the least you should do is start offering...
Read moreBEST supermarket in Hunter's Point! I've had the privilege of living in the area and find having this store so close a huge perk! Prices are reasonable (for the area) and much cheaper than Foodcellar and they provide great weekly sales on items people actually buy.
Selection of items is varied with both store brand and high-end organic choices providing a range of price. Produce has always been fresh and well-stocked, MUCH better than other Key Foods in my experience. Seasonal items come throughout the year like pumpkins, small Christmas trees, avocados, July 4th hot dogs, and more. GREAT selection of beers and ciders along with 1L bottles of hard-to-find craft ciders.
I really appreciate the management's attention to their regular shoppers. For example they sold out of their bags of mandarin oranges and the very next day they were re-stocked with two varieties. After opening they soon started selling cauliflower rice, zucchini noodles, shaved Brussel sprouts, pre-cut onions and peppers. I also appreciate that they stock some hard to find items like stars anise, bamboo shoots for ramen, chicken liver, Milka chocolate, and ham steak.
For how much they sell, the store layout is surprisingly easy to navigate, very clean, well stocked, and they even provide small push carts. The cashiers are efficient and they recently added self checkout options that are well-supervised.
Protip: It can get very busy on a Monday evening, so come through on a Sun/Tues for your...
Read moreThis should be a 2.5 star store and absolutely no higher.
The pros? It's conveniently located on 50th ave near several residential buildings, so it's fine in a pinch. The staff is pretty nice, never really had any problems.
The cons? Their produce and vegan items are overpriced and mostly a miss (especially their avocados, absolutely terrible). Their stock of items is abysmal - and they never have a significant portion of their sales flyer, and when they do they often overcharge because they never updated their stock or they stock a different brand (which then is the only one they have even though the sale was for the other brand). The self checkout is weird because they generally have no bags there and always make you buy a new bag for a dollar if you forgot yours. Their 'homemade' stuff (such as pico de gallo) is often not sealed so you have no idea what the freshness is.
This place is a fancier looking convenience store - great if you need a snack or well preserved item, but buyer beware for...
