The older(in his forties) waiter is VERY rude. I wanted to show this spot to my friends which I have done several times in the past. We were always well received. But this time the waiter was very rude. He did not say hello first thing he said was that “we close at 9PM” mind you we arrived around 7h45PM. And thank you we already knew this! He was rushing us to order and was annoyed. In the meantime he was catering really well to the table next to us who appeared to be a group of Georgian men. Of course to them he would not have dared to be rude or he would have ended up with a black eye. He never came to ask if we needed anything. We ordered the Katchapuri the one with an egg in it and every time I came to this place the waiter mixed the egg in the cheese because it is part of the experience. This time the waiter put the plates on the table barely looked at us and left to go back to the table by us once again. When came the check which he took the freedom to bring without being asked I told my friend in front of him to leave him 0 tip because he was extremely rude. He got mad and said that he “ just told us that they are closing at 9pm” yeah and thats the problem sir that is the only thing you told us without saying even hello. He was denying his nasty attitude and kept repeating the same thing over and over. I ended up arguing with him and cussing him out because he told me to “stop crying” which I was not. I would cry for a roach first before crying for a coward like him. This guy need to be taught some manners he sucks as a waiter and as a man. Extremely...
Read moreThis was my first time experiencing Georgian food and I'm glad I went here! It's a great little neighborhood restaurant that serves traditional fare with an old world atmosphere and impeccable service. Since it was my first time, we ordered several dishes to really get a feel for it. Don't load up on the bread basket, that'll fill you up quick and they give you big pieces. The food is hearty so keep that in mind. Tried the Chashushuli which to me tasted like a traditional beef stew that my mother used to make. Also had the Khinkali which are beef soup dumplings. These things are huge, about 4 times the size of Asian dumplings to give you some perspective. The beef had a nice spice to it, but not overly done. These were my favorite. Also had the Adjaruli which is a bread cheese combo with an egg...really well put together. Also had the chicken with roasted potatoes, which I thought was delicious. The wife ordered mushrooms and potatoes...I didn't try it cause why would I...I had chicken on my end. Our server was so nice...he ran the entire front of house by himself and was constantly on the move. Be mindful, since this is a neighborhood place, they're not open till the wee hours of the evening. We stood past closing not realizing it, and our server was nice enough to not kick us out. The atmosphere there is great, very old world feel. They also have a tv screen which showed pictures of Georgia which is has amazing landscapes and architecture. I would recommend a visit to try Georgian food...I think you'll...
Read moreYet another overdue review. I remember it was really hard to find parking before we arrived which is surprising to me.
This place seems to be divided in two parts as one part is take out and another for dinning in. We dined in for dinner and order two overpriced Georgian wine which I would say I am a fan of. It's only for the occasion and hey trying their food anyway.
I was led here by the amazing looking food which is obviously super hyped in my point of view. It's something that looks great and excited to try but a totally letdown. I am not saying the food isn't great. It's just not my taste. From being small portion for location wise to a bit over priced, I wouldn't recommend driving or traveling this far. You would enjoy a good meal at home with all the trouble.
Well I wouldnt consider this a cuisine as more of putting a bunch of preserved veggie on a plate. The soup is like can soup put in a bowl and the dumpling I was looking forward to isn't that exciting at all. Taste isnt something I would add to the description as it's more about the look and that Instagram picture. I did enjoy their cheese and mushrooms dish but who can hate burned cheese and mushrooms. As I said, the food is mainly about putting two separate parts together.
Service is good. Place is small but fits anyone pretty well. I actually...
