Had the good fortune to attend the grand opening of Urban Press. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Finally, an ultra healthy option to Main Street coronary heart disease opulence.
We started the night off with a sampling of all the smoothies on the menu. My god they all tasted phenomenal. All had that 'fresh picked fruit/vegtable' flavor with a freshness that smacks you in the face to say 'HOLA'. Just astounding how amazing their smoothie combinations taste....very innovative.
We then moved on to the French Onion Soup. Found it to be the perfect combination of excellent flavor and texture. Then we tried a lentil soup that really had a Mediterranean authenticity to the flavor that i found refreshing in its honesty to the palette. Both soups were excellent.
We moved on to the Caesar salad with ample portions of cheese, and I absolutely loved it. The lettuce fresh and the cheese and dressing very flavourful.
We then moved on to their sampling of grilled cheese and tuna panini and their veggie burger. BOTH EXCELLENT! If I begin to write about how awesome they tasted, I would be typing here for hours.
To top off our night, we couldn't leave without tasting their sour dough pizza. OMG that was what made this place one of my favorites in all of NYC. That was probably the best surprise of all for me, I absolutely couldn't stop eating it. It was soooo good that I was genuinely sad when it was all gone.
This is only their first night and they blew my socks off! Kudos to the owners and the energetic staff. We left happy and promised to be back early and often. I LOVE THIS PLACE and can't...
Read moreI ordered a few items through their app, which said my order would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived after 15 minutes, but they hadn’t started preparing it yet. That wasn’t an issue for me—the main problem was the service (or lack thereof). Only one employee was working the front, which might explain the delays.
The iced Americano I ordered was less than halfway full (it was made from a machine). I expected the employee to add more from the machine, but instead, she topped it off with water from the sink faucet—about 60% of the cup. Unsurprisingly, it tasted overly diluted and unpleasant. I mentioned this when I received the drink, but my concern was dismissed.
The personal pie I ordered was disappointingly small—about the size of a slice and a half of pizza. On a previous visit, I had tried their juice press, and the portion was similarly lacking. After blending, the cup was only about 70% full, and they added water and stirred it to make it appear full. I had hoped my previous experience was a one-off, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
For the prices they charge, I expect better portion sizes and more attentive service. The space is small but nicely decorated, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. Still, with so many other options nearby, I’m not sure I’d return unless they make...
Read moreMy friends and I " Moms" we decide to go to this place to have breakfast and catch up. The ambiance was pleasant, and the premises were exceptionally clean. They have three long bar tables with high stool chairs. The menu offers a diverse selection to cater to everyone's preferences. The cashier/waiter was courteous and provided assistance when needed. This place is a "place your order, pay and wait for your meal", we received our meals promptly. The food was of excellent quality. We had an avocado toast with smashed chickpeas, a Belgian waffle accompanied slice strawberries and whipped cream and an iced coffee, a pineapple banana smoothie, and eggs with home fries paired with a peppermint tea. We were thoroughly satisfied with the flavors and the generous portions. The prices are good for the amount of food and quality. We were able to enjoy our breakfast while catching up. We intend to return to this establishment in the future. I highly...
