Yosuki Sushi — Restaurant in New York

This place deserves so much more business. I've been eating sushi my entire life. I've had it all. Cheap gas station sushi. Mediocre all-you-can-eat sushi. And expensive, overpriced sushi.

While I don't claim to be the world's leading expert on sushi, I've eaten enough of it know, like any sushi connoisseur, whether or not I'm about to enjoy a piece of salmon or tuna just based on the color and smell of it.

I've eaten enough to discern the difference between a piece of sushi that is a 7 and one that is as 7.5

Yosuki sushi is AMAZING. In fact, it's criminally amazing. The fact I don't see more people in there is a travesty of justice. I've ordered from there more than 50 times and have never had a single night where I felt they were off. Which is very rare. Usually, even my favorite sushi places have one night every now and then where I feel like the tuna or salmon wasn't as good a usual.

It's not just sushi, either. They make the single-greatest shrimp fried rice I have ever tasted (especially if you put what they call the "yum yum sauce on it)

Their prices are reasonable and come in at what is honestly the lower end. This is a place that clearly punches well above their weight. For double the price, most places give inferior sushi.

Their Kani salad is also pretty good (my mom loves it) and to be honest, I've yet to have a bad appetizer from them.

I strongly suggest trying out Yosuki if you find yourself on the island. You'll remember this review if you do and realize I wasn't bsing you.

I was just about to grab the number and I couldn’t help but see the 4.9 review. I typically sit and eat for lunch…I order dinner. Food comes super fresh, packed correctly, never soggy, etc. Food is SUPERRR fresh!!! Tastes incredible. The owner Steven goes out of his way to help you and they should continue to have 5 stars. Im sorry for him that one review brings it down. I come from a family of business and I learned you always put the customer first, even the snobby ones because you never know what’s happening in their life to rip someone else down. You can’t please everyone. He should have been able to keep his 5 because I know the owner personally would do his best to fix things when they are not right and he really feels bad about it. I was witness to it and he helped me and it was something so stupid. Sorry but still a 5 for me. This is the best sushi spot! 🍣

Happy New Year Steven and to the entire Yosuki...

Unfortunately, we had very bad experience of the service yesterday, 2/14/24. We have been waiting for approx.15-20 minutes while one of two free tables would be cleaned. We reminded the waiters and the manager about that a few times. After it was finally cleaned nobody invited us for the table, so we just took it. We've been waiting for our order for more than half an hour. We reminded waiters about that. The waiter brought just one portion of sushi and forgot about the portions for the other people. When she finally brought the rest of the portions of sushi, some of them did not have wasabi or ginger. Rice was messy on sashimi and cold, whereas it was supposed to be hot. The waiter hold the souse plates with her thumb in there, so we did not use them. Finally, we did not have Valentine holiday...
