I have been eating here for a little under a year and the food has never disappointed me favorite is the curry, goat, rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. However, I have tried the fried chicken red pea soup , jerk, chicken, oxtails, curry chicken, beef patty. Regardless, what you pick youāre gonna find chunks of ginger in it, so be careful as you eat some meals are spicier than others, but all are very flavorful in my opinion. I am hoping in the future to try the salmon option when they have a fish fry in the summer. I personally do not like any Jamaican restaurants, macaroni, and cheese, so I have not tried their version at all, nor have I tried the typical African-American sides like collard greens, candied yams, and so forth. I stick to the typical jamaican options for sides. I see signs for roti too never tried that yet . Rank the atmosphere three out of five because the neighborhood is a bit rough know in the area so be mindful of limitations on parking and people randomly standing on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe other day I got Jamrock Island Cove for lunch. I ordered their medium Jerk Pork w/ Rice and Peas & Collard Greens, with a Beef Patty as the side. First of all I didnāt even know Jerked Pork was a thing lol. It was absolutely phenomenal. It had great flavor, the pork was very tender, and had an excellent meat to fat ratio. The Rice and Peas were pretty good as well too. The best, for me though, were the Collard Greens! Usually I get their Oxtail Dinner (Which is AMAZING btw) with the cabbage. But wanted to try something different. Man were those collard greens on point! The Beef Patty on the other hand was absolutely lacking. Barely tasted the beef and there was a lot more dough than filling. But at least the dough was fresh! All in all I absolutely love Jamrock. Their food is always great, just a little disappointed in the beef patty. I would absolutely recommend Jamrock to anyone looking for some good Jamaican food in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI literally keep going here because the food is good. ( sometimes cold ) but nonetheless pretty good. The oxtails are some of the best oxtails compared to other Jamaican Restaurants and one hidden gem about this restaurant is the stew chicken. The gravy on it is very good⦠THAT BEING SAID THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS h o r r I b l e !!! Very passive aggressive rudeness. I walk in to order and they just stare at me. No hello how are you, can I help you or anything! I hate that. They cut you off quick and try to speed up your order. Today they even made one order quick and I was not even done placing my order. Again itās that serious how much I dislike the rudeness the girls here have. But I keep spending my money here because the food is actually decent. The service is horrible tho older lady is a little nicer but same passive aggressive attitude also. Younger girls , forget about it they need service training. Greet...
