People's Choice Bar — Restaurant in Newark

Walked and I thought they had an event but was told it was still open to the public. Nice little hole in the wall. Would give it higher ratings if the service and food wasn’t bad. Unnecessary attitude, trying to get the bartender attention but his attention was more important to the party guest. When I finally got his attention, attitude yet again. Told me one price but charged me more than what he stated. The chef also has a nasty attitude. When he did bring my food out I was ready to go. Prior to that when I wanted to order, he had me wait a good while before he came and took my order. When he finally finished, just paid him and he stood there like he wanted me to tip him. Sir ummm no. It’s bad enough you had me waited until you were satisfied to take my order and then the food was so salty I couldn’t even eat it. Felt sick after 2 bites. First time there and I’m telling it was bad to the point where a lady came in after me and she left because she kept trying to get the sassy bartender attention. I should have left when she left too. Oh well,...

The food is exceptional (sticky finger chicken and tacos). However, the reason behind the rating is a combination of a few factors: -Wait time was almost an hour ( I literally ended up doing some work from my phone) While waiting you'd think that someone would greet you and ask you what you'd like to drink while you wait. No! You have to go to the bar area yourself and if you're not a "regular" expect an additional wait time. -Lack of attention to details (we ended up taking out since the wait was too long) to get condiments. -Waiter however has a nice personality and the atmosphere had good 80's /90's music playing. The bartender was the worst! He looked like he popped a pill or something. He was so confused. We sat for 30 minutes before someone served us because the bartender wandered off. The second order we placed with him never arrived, we eventually just switched bartenders. We requested that she serve us for the rest of the night, wanting nothing more to do with the gentleman.
