Sangria is very good, food was good and the atmosphere is dated and because of that I feel the prices are a little high, but good overall! Update! I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend for an early lunch on a Saturday. When we arrived, the place was completely empty except for us . I ordered a filet mignon, requesting it to be cooked medium. However, when it arrived, it was extremely rare. I politely called the waiter over and asked him to have it cooked to medium, with a pink center. When it came back, I cut into it before the waiter left, and once again, it was still very rare, but this time, the outside was charred. I asked the waiter to butterfly the steak and have it cooked properly.
On the third attempt, the steak was cooked better, but due to the charring, it tasted awful and was inedible. When the waiter returned, he asked if I wanted to take it home, and I told him no—I couldn't eat it, it was that bad. He could see I had barely touched it, yet offered no apology or any alternative.
When the bill arrived, the steak was still included, as if everything had gone perfectly. I called the waiter over and politely explained that I couldn't eat the steak and requested it be removed from the bill. The waiter took the bill without saying anything, and a few minutes later, the owner and what seemed to be his son approached the table.
The owner immediately started yelling at me, claiming that in 40 years, they had never had an issue like this. I calmly repeated my request to remove the steak from the bill, and mentioned that I might consider returning in the future. At that point, his son chimed in, telling us they didn't want us back. They then stormed off to the bar, continuing to shout for several minutes. Eventually, they brought back the bill with the steak removed.
I paid the bill and left a cash tip for the waiter because I didn’t trust that they would give it to him otherwise. I understand that every business encounters issues and customer complaints, but the way this situation was handled was completely...
Read moreThe worst lunch Ive had. I had bene going to Spanish Sangria for 20 years. Last year I stopped going because I realized that even if you have only four people on any given day they sneak in 20% gratuity. HOW sad the waiters are all over the place counting their gratuity and not even paying attention to customers especially on a Saturday. Today I called and had my lunch picked up for the office. What a mistake! We are all hungry just picked on food and left to throw out. If I had someone to take back or if it had been a delivery I would of told them to pick it up. Then we call the managers/owners are very cold and uncaring and pass the buck to employees! Instead of trying to ask me what else would you like I want the customer to be happy? So the guy who took the order over phone spoke bad English I ordered chicken legs with pasta in marinade sauce. I got dried chicken breast cut up with some yellow saffron looking sauce that tasted horrible. Then we ordered the pork ribs, the pork ribs had NO seasoning at all-they were badly burned and the container came tis a cold plastic small cup of barbecue sauce. The rice that came with it was tasteless, and so were the roasted potatoes that didn't even see a pinch of salt. Finally I asked for a salad fro three people. I said don't forget to season it, the guy tells me he will put salt, oil and vinegar on the side, THEy never put anything, I haven't been able to eat my salad? Who has oil and vinegar in a Law office? The only thing that was good was the shrimp isn garlic sauce. The cook must be using the Sherry wine a little to much he is forgetting the taste and seasoning. I give...
Read moreMy culinary journey at the Spanish Sangria Restaurant commenced with a promising start: a delectable Caldo Gallego that tantalized the taste buds with its robust flavors and comforting warmth. Moving on to the main course, the grilled swordfish stole the spotlight, showcasing expert grilling techniques that resulted in a perfectly cooked piece of fish bursting with bold and succulent flavors. Accompanied by broiled potatoes that exuded remarkable depth of taste, the dish was nearly flawless, except for the slightly disappointing frozen quality of the vegetables, which detracted from an otherwise stellar ensemble.
However, redemption came swiftly in the form of the restaurant's namesake beverage. The sangria, a hallmark of Spanish cuisine, proved to be a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and expertly crafted, serving as a delightful complement to the meal. Concluding the evening on a high note was an espresso that delivered a satisfying conclusion, rounding off the culinary experience with a touch of sophistication.
The Spanish Sangria offers a commendable culinary experience, marked by moments of brilliance and nuanced flavors. While minor imperfections detracted slightly from the overall enjoyment, the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity shines through, earning it a solid rating of 4...
