Wok II Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Newark

Restaurant is attempting to rip me off and I have no clue why. Used Uber Eat to order for delivery. Order was canceled for some reason. Reordered for pickup at 4:11pm. Food was supposed to be ready at apx 4:45pm. Wife goes down to pick it up. Says he remembers seeing our order but only has 2 of many items ready. Fast forward to 530pm and food is still not ready and the only worker there is acting like he knows nothing of the order. Wife doesn't want to wait any longer and wants a refund. Has all the uber eats and transaction information which is being refused by the worker. Tells us we he has no receipt to give us and won't look for our confirmation number in his work tablet. Tells us to call uber. I tell him he's marked the order as delivered even though we never picked it up. We tell him we'll wait but he's still telling us to call Uber anyways and is now refusing to give us the food even though we've already been waiting for an hour. Says to come back in 30 minutes. Wife leaves and we try to call. Says call back in a few minutes. We call back and is workers are now not answering the phone. Calling numerous time. Filing a dispute with both Uber Eats and PayPal. No real responses yet for help. As of writing this Uber randomly responded to me in Spanish saying they'l send this to their team to discuss. l Might be scammed out of $62.55 and get no help.

UPDATE: UBER EATS CUSTOMER SERVICE CAME THROUGH. Offering me full refund despite not even being able to contact the this business because they are refusing answer calls. Uber Eats gets 5 star. Wok II has by far been the worst restaurant experience my family...

Truly disgusting. (Just moved into the neighborhood, a month ago, and don't know the area well enough just yet). Ordered food from Wok II, this afternoon, for the first (AND LAST!!) time. Ordered vegetable egg foo young and (3) egg rolls. I took a bite of one egg roll and had to spit it out. Tried the egg foo young....wasn't impressed. Here's the problem: It's obvious Wok II doesn't change their cooking oil -- both items tasted rancid. The egg rolls - before I bit into one - looked saturated with grease, but the taste...oh, my god: You could taste (& smell) the industrial oil-ness of the egg roll. It was so gross! The egg foo young didn't taste AS bad, but it was overly greasy and the oil was not fresh. Sad for them: I wasted $12, for sure -- BUT, they lost the prospect of a new customer. May call them to let them know, but I have a feeling there will just be...attitude, you know? Will contact the Health Department, though, because this is a serious issue - I mean, what else isn't fresh there? Would advise that you not order a delivery because you will be expected to pay them before you have the chance to get back to your apt. to examine the state of the food. Very odd some of the reviews, because people are complaining about rudeness, about the delivery person not getting out of the car -- Huh??!! What about food being rancid? This is one of the worse places to eat from ever. They state on the menu that they have free delivery yet my food came to 12.45 and they tried to charge me 17.00 and then went down to 15.00 stating they have a delivery fee and then when I pointed out the menu says free delivery they tried to change it to its a tip. You cant tell me how much to tip or to even tip though.

I had to record my conversation with these frauds and I plan on reporting them. they had the nastiest food ever and then tried to over charge for it....not with me. I don't just pay I check first.

the menu says Chinese food but they gave me yellow rice that was so greasy I could fry a turkey in it. The meat was so dry and hard i could have used it for a hammer. i was so hungry and I couldn't even eat this food.

I rate this place at negative negative although they dont let me go below one star rating on this site.........they dont deserve to have any stars show up in...
