Five Guys — Restaurant in Newberg

We tried Five Guys for the first time ever yesterday. We have heard great things, and we were excited to give it a go. Upon entering, we were enthusiastically greeted by numerous smiling and cheerful employees. The menu board is a little confusing for a first timer, but once explained, made good sense. There are quite a selection of variations for your burger order, which allows good customization. My wife ordered the Little Bacon Cheeseburger and I the Bacon Cheeseburger, small fries and a chocolate milkshake. The shake was ready first. It had a nice thickness, but very little chocolate flavor. Overall, it tasted like very weak chocolate milk with too much sugar. Our food was ready about five minutes later, and we eagerly dove into the bag. The fries were really a mess. Just above warm, soggy, and greasy. Hard pass. The quality of the meat, as well as size of the patties, were very good, as was the quality of the bacon. Unfortunately, that is where the goodness ended. The bun was a flavorless, soon soggy mess. The tomato was just mush and the grilled onion offered no taste to party. After all the hype, it was very disappointing all around. There are numerous burger joints in the area providing a much better product. It's a shame as with the wonderful, friendly staff. A better product would make it irresistible. It reminded us a lot of In-N-Out, but...

Today was my first visit to the new Five Guys in Newberg. I'm handicapped so I order over the phone, was parked right in front of the store. The call was answered promptly, I immediately told the person what I wanted to order, but that I needed someone to bring the order to my car, at which time his reply was "not a problem". I gave him my order (his name was Zachary) he took my order, he had a few questions, just to make sure that I would be getting what I wanted, and he told me it would take approx 6 minutes for the order and he would bring it out to the car. So, I was in AWE at the Service he gave me, extremely polite and ready to help. That was my reason for 5 Stars, well deserved. Not to mention that when I got home, I had a GREAT BURGER TO EAT...it was beyond my expectations and delicious!! Thank you again Zachary for that Outstanding Service, looking forwards to...

We arrived on opening day, the environment was wonderful and we were greeted warmly and enthusiastically by all the staff along the way. They had ample staffing which made the turn around time fast considering the number of orders ahead of us. We ordered cheeseburgers which were cooked to perfection, fries which were also cooked to perfection but more importantly a reflection of excellent training and generosity, and the milkshakes were undisputedly delicious.
