Fantastic Pho in Newberg!
What a great find in Newberg, Oregon! Since moving here last year, we've been on the hunt for a good PHO spot, but the top rated spots seemed so far away. (in SE Portland, over an hour away). My daughter recommended we try “JUST PHO YOU”, and I'm so glad we did! She loves the Chicken Pho here, so we were excited to check it out.
Located between the Nails and Hair shop in the mall near Safeway, we had no idea what to expect when we walked in. There were quite a few people enjoying dinner when we arrived, but the hostess quickly seated us at TABLE 11 and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere at Just Pho You is relaxed —warm, and inviting.
The menu offers a great mix of Vietnamese favorites like PHO and other favorites like Pad Thai, and Chow Mein, along with a nice selection of Boba Teas and traditional drinks.
We decided on Fried Spring Rolls (pork) and Jasmine Tea to start. The spring rolls were excellent—crispy, not greasy, and bursting with flavor. The sweet chili dipping sauce wasn’t too sweet and complimented the rolls nicely.
For the main course, I ordered the PHO NAM (beef brisket) and my wife went for the Pad Thai. The PHO was incredible! The Hoisin and Sriracha sauces on the table allowed us to customize the flavor and spice level exactly how we wanted it. My wife raved about the Pad Thai—it's one of the best she's had.
Our server was so friendly and attentive, making us feel like we were regulars right away. (They suggested maybe we would be back tomorrow) We were also excited to take some leftovers home, which is always a sign of a great meal.
The only downside? We wish we'd found this spot sooner! It's literally less than a mile from our house, and we both agreed this will probably become our new regular go-to place. It's such a hidden gem, and it's amazing that more people around here aren't talking about it. If you love PHO (or even if you're new to it), you absolutely need to give “JUST PHO YOU” a try. They have something for everyone, including kids favorites and entrées for the most discerning tastes. We are already planning our next visit.
Highly recommend! 5+ stars. And the ladies who served us...
Read moreMy husband and I walked in here and immediately we felt the cool, relaxing vibe that’s made this place a little getaway for us. The music is great, it’s easy listening and has a jazzy feel to it. Everything is very clean, including the bathroom. The owner, the waiters, everyone is very welcoming-like your walking into their home for dinner. As for the food, it is incredible. C2 is my favorite as well as the Lemongrass Chicken. Everything is well made, full of flavor, and tasty! Also love the Thai Tea and Strawberry Boba Smoothie-very refreshing! If you want a place to eat that’s easy going, friendly, and has great food this is your place. What you should know: This is a great place for couples! I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for families with small children though. It’s a smaller space, it’s more quiet (has a nice cafe vibe to it) and there’s only one bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend this for big groups (10+) either since seating is limited. They do offer carryout as well. Definitely worth giving it a shot! We come here...
Read moreCan't speak to other items on their menu but we ordered H-10 (house curry) and H-2 (orange chicken with rice). Her orange chicken was overcooked and hard, bland, and was also somehow cold, which brings food safety into question. My curry was bland, and the broccoli was obviously not cooked along with it, because the broccoli was not soft. They also don't have a variety of ingredients to add to the curry, I prefer mine with bamboo chutes. The broth of curry was also bland, it tasted like water with a hint of chicken, with curry powder in it. I understand this is a Vietnamese restaurant, so if they want to offer yellow curry as a menu item, they should at least learn how it is flavored. Sugar obviously is not a standard menu item they use in any capacity, the food was neither spicy, sweet, salty or savory, I don't understand how it is possible to cook something and have it come out with no flavor at all. Needless to say, we...
