My kids and I often frequent this precious bakery on Saturday's after a visit to the Market and it NEVER Disappoints. I have to give a shout-out for the customer service we received today! We got there right before lunch and had promised donuts for the kiddos for being so good; something they were looking forward to. When we got in, the glass case where the donuts and other delicious baked goods were, was empty, due to a busy morning, they had already sold out. With heavy hearts, we walked back to the car coming up with a plan B, when the kindness of 'strangers' asked if we had gotten our donuts, seeing our empty hands. We got to talking, and I quickly realized it was the owner and her husband who had just come back from Chapin, SC where they sell donuts at their food truck every Saturday. They too had already sold out of everything, but just so happened to have two of the 'left-over'-end of the pan, Peach Cobbler Rolls (something we've been looking forward to after we had heard how amazing they were). He insisted that they were given to us, because these were 'just the left-overs that they weren't going to sell' (due to their size-however not small at all in our opinion). Let me tell you, this not only made our day, but also we will be ordering online from now on (amazing advice) to guarantee to get the flavors/amounts we wish for in the future! Thank you for being so kind and generous! We've determined this bakery (donuts) are way better than the chain "KK", always have seasonal items that are amazing, and even offer sandwiches and ice cream! Wishing they had a brick&mortar store in Chapin, but will continue making our drive to Newberry and catch them at the local coffee house on Saturdays for our online orders! Thanks again, from the bottom of our hearts, or stomachs! Have a blessed day! PS: if there isn't parking on Main Street, there is a free parking lot right behind the store and you don't have to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love to support local businesses so I will give this place a 3 stars for that. BUT there is room for much improvement! We drove up from Columbia after seeing the ads on Facebook. We had a large groups of children with us expecting lunch and sweet treats. We get there and the options are slim. No lunch was available. They serve Hersheyās ice cream. The ice cream was freezer burnt. Wrapped desserts (cookies, pound cake slices) looked like they had been there awhile. There were some really dark slices of what I assume were pumpkin or sweet potato pie. They didnāt look good either. They only had glazed and like 6 maple bacon donuts in display case. They did not look appetizing or fresh. The glaze on the glazed was dried hard! I also noticed the staff eating donut holes out of the bakers rack, but they were not on display for sale. We tried the red velvet and vanilla cupcakes with were pretty good. Shop needs a deep clean and a make over, and for a bakery we smelled no baked good upon entering. It was like a strong chili smell, but no lunch. Strange! Staff acted like zombies (2 females and a male). Not really engaging or knowledgeable. We probably wonāt return here any time soon. Itās unfortunate, because this place has a ton of potential being nestled right...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA very clean and bright little shop with a distinctive home town feel. Due to being late in the day there were few choices to pick from. I ordered 4 slices of pound cake, 4 mini cheese cakes and a child size 1 scoop sugar cone. The peach ice cream was delicious. My bill was $32 and change, to which I added a tip when prompted on the card reader. It was warranted, the staff was helpful and pleasant. When I got home, there was 4 slices of pound cake and 1 cheese cake. I called to inquire, and they looked up my sale slip (I seldom take a paper copy ) and was informed that the pound cake was $5 each ($20 for 4) that meant the child's cone and a mini cheesecake was $12. My fault, I should have asked especially when, as I noticed when I came in, no prices are posted. A one time indulgence I think. Husband said the pound cake was good. They have been in business for some time so there are plenty of folks who shop there, and I'm glad to see a small...
