Disappointing Fundraiser Experience at Newcastle Sonic
Recently the Blanchard cheerleading team had a fundraising event at the Newcastle Sonic location. Unfortunately, it was disappointing experience with the handling of the tips collected during the event.
The agreement was that all tips, both cash and credit card, would go directly to the cheerleaders. However, after the fundraiser, it became apparent that there was a discrepancy with the credit card tips. The owner claimed that it was “challenging” to determine the exact amount and initially decided not to allocate them to the cheerleaders.
Once called and questioned about the decision the owner acknowledged the “mistake” and stated a tax form needed to be completed which was not an issue. The total amount of credit card tips could have been easily obtained through their software, which made the situation even more disheartening.
As a parent supporting the cheerleading team, it is disturbing to encounter such difficulties in an event aimed at benefiting the children. It is important for businesses to honor their commitments, especially when it involves fundraising for local organizations and supporting CHILDREN.
I would advise caution when considering future fundraising events at this particular Sonic location. I hope that ownership takes steps to rectify this situation, FULLY payout the amount of tip’s received via credit card, and improve their communication and transparency...
Read moreI decided to eat here during my lunch period at school. I wanted to order on the mobile app, but it was temporarily unavailable at the time; Therefore, I went to order at one of the stalls. They weren’t very busy at the time, maybe 8-10 cars in the stalls and 2 cars in the drive. I pressed the red button and waited. I waited about 10-15 minutes, but my order still hadn’t been taken. There was nothing wrong with the computer screen. I decided to go through the drive thru instead because it seemed to be moving. I get to the speaker and order 5 chicken tenders (not the dinner) a medium fry, and a medium cherry slush. Whoever was taking my order asked me to repeat it, so I repeated the exact same thing except louder. She told me my total. I get to the window. The drive thru worker, who did not repeat my order, just the total, handed me a box and my slush. After taking the food, I pulled out of the drive and looked at my order. It was a 3 piece chicken dinner, not my order. The slush was right, however. Read moreWorked here for 3 years. The GM is very disrespectful to the employees and does not take pride in his store WHAT SO EVER. Everything is moldy and disgusting, they fail health inspections due to the disgustingness and just in general, do not care about their store. He doesn’t acknowledge anyone for the good they do. The employees bust their butts on a daily just for him to cut them down and belittle them. He tells employees he hates them and wants to kill them, he told me that nearly every day until he let me go for something that was not happening. He’s nice to his customers, so give him that, but when he is actually at his store doing his job (or on his phone nonstop) he is inconsiderate and hateful to everyone inside.
