Membership doesnt mean anything .I reserved a room in March for my upcoming stay in June. My stay would be a lengthy one, 126 nights . I figured , since being a residence inn that I wouldn't have any problems . First of all , the place is outdated , beds are not comfortable, i asked for a new one , they did change it out, but it was no better. I just felt with it the best i could. Most places we stay in would accommodate us with breakfast times , since we leave early , their breakfast started at 0630 , we usually left around 6 , but they were unwilling to start breakfast any sooner , They said " employees dont show up until 6 " so i can't comment on their breakfast . As for the billing , when ever I check into a hotel for a lengthy time , 30 or nights , i make arrangements for the bill , weekly settlements , this time was no different . I asked the person checking me in if i could pay my bill every Friday morning , she said not a problem and will note it in the room log . The first bill wasnt a problem , since i checked in on a Sun and i paid on Friday . The following week , i go pay my bill , and the night attendant said they ran my card Wed when it reached $1000 , i told her that wasnt the arrangement i made when i checked in . She told me I needed to speak to the manager . I called the manager , could not reach him , when i got back to hotel after work, he was there , and questioned him about the $1000 , he said it was corporate policy to charge the card after $1000. He was very rude and unforgiving .
I know it may sound pity, but being an Elite member should have a few perks . As for this hotel , this is by far the worst Residence Inn i have ever stayed in. I have stayed at hotels all over this country.
Category 6 , nah more like a 2

Read moreThere's just something about a Marriott that makes it a step above all the others. I often stay in Marriott A/C, Residence Inn, or Courtyards. Each time the stay is comfortable, clean, and pleasant. Service is always impeccable. And that's why I am writing this review for the Residence Inn on 1 International in Portsmouth, NH. I didn't stay at this hotel. I thought that someone I knew was staying at this Residence Inn when I sent an Amazon package to her. Unbeknownst to me there is a 2nd Marriott Residence Inn in Portsmouth, and I had inadvertently sent my Amazon package to the wrong hotel. I called the front desk at RI International Drive and spoke with Gunnar. After a few mutual chuckles about my ineptitude, Gunnar was on the lookout for my package, so that I could forward it to the correct hotel via Uber when it arrived at Gunnar's front desk. Amazon notified me of the delivery. I called Gunnar. He had to put me on hold for a moment. But by the time he came back on the line, his manager was already on the move to take my package and deliver it personally across town to the other Portsmouth Residence Inn, downtown at 100 Deer Street. What can I possibly say in this day of understaffing and the extra burden of work on those who are part of the workplace teams? “Thank-you” certainly doesn't come close to the gratitude I have for Gunnar and his colleague for taking my problem and making it right. You see, this is just another reason why I like Marriott hotels so much. They seem to find the people with just a little something more than all the other hotels. My hat's off to Gunnar for graciously turning my error into a "home run." Thanks Gunnar...
Read moreIm giving one star because I cant give none!! Stay Away!! Piss poor customer service! Virtually non-existant, they will over charge your card, call you a liar, speak to you terribly, never apologize for THEIR mistake! And demand your bank records after accusing you of not telling the truth!! I would never let anyone I know stay at this place!! Its a joke!! Not to mention it smells like an old nursing home, theres no ice and the walls are PAPER THIN! I heard every word of the conversations going on in the room behind!! If you have any issues, the GM will do nothing without an attitude to fix them, his employees dont know what their talking about, and if they give you misinformation, its not his problem apparently!! Ive never been treated this way anywhere!! No Hotel, no restaurant, no store!! I will admit I was angry when I called the THIRD time to get issues resolved, but who wouldnt be, after being given the wrong info and STILL not having the problem fixed!! But the way to handle an upset customer is not by coping an attitude and demanding their bank records because you find it "hard to believe"! And I'm sure the owners of this establishment would not be pleased to know this is how their GM handles issues, especially after being told you will never recommend them to anyone and then being told "well thats your prerogative"!!! I can't even believe the conversations I have had with the GM of this hotel, I feel like I'm in a nightmare the way he has treated me and my friend, who was already charged the rooms I was charged for in error!!! This is so...
