Came here with my fiance. Was originally coming for breakfast however wasn't aware that the breakfast ends at 11 (nowhere on the menu did it say that). Wasn't upset about it because it happens, so told the waitress to give us a second to look at the menu. My fiance and I ended up waiting 30 minutes before we could order. Three people had came in after us and they all got their order taken and food delivered while we were still waiting to order. Waitress kept standing at the front talking to someone else (who I guess also works there?) and when she finally came to check on us, she claimed she thought the other waitress was going to take our order. I can understand there being confusion during a busy day but there was only us and three other people. While we waited for our food, the atmosphere was very awkward, very silent in the dining room and the only noise that was happening was the kitchen playing loud music and the chefs screaming singing to the music. When we got our food, the steak fries were good however I was disappointed to find out that the chicken tenders tasted exactly like pickles and I am not a lover of pickles. My fiance, at least, thought his smash burger was good so there's a plus. I would like to try and give this restaurant a second chance because I still am interested in trying the...
Read moreWe are so glad Waightstill’s took over the vacant spot, we were worried Cranberry st Cafe would go vacant or be bought out by a sub-par establishment, but Waightstill’s is quite the opposite. Today was their second(?) day in operation, and for such a new business, our sandwiches were absolutely delicious, were quite impressed. The beef in the burger was great quality and likely locally raised beef, the hot chicken was juicy and delicious. We got a side of pimento cheese as well to see how it is, it’s tasty and definitely homemade, not just some store bought stuff. The prices are very reasonable, we’re both filled up for less than $20 total. Overall very excited to try more of their menu. We absolutely recommend you go visit them if you’re in Newland or nearby, it’s refreshing to have great restaurants like them open up...
Read moreI have no idea how this place has a 4.2 stars. To the owners/kitchen staff : Buying the cheapest ingredients possible doesn't go unnoticed. Especially when there's a lack of skill in the kitchen to cover it up. Also seasoning is completely safe, legal and encouraged! I fear absolutely nothing is made in-house here. We got a bacon burger and chicken tenders. No bacon, bland, tasteless (to the point I considered a covid test) As locals we really wanted to love this place but we left pretty disappointed. They were also out of a few menu items, which made ordering painful but not as painful as the meal that was...
