We’ve visited this place on three separate occasions. First time we walked in and stood at the hostess station for 10 minutes with no acknowledgement whatsoever, so we left.
After a couple of months, we decided to try it again. It was a great experience. Our service was exceptional, the food was good as were the drinks. We even told the server of our first experience and thanked her for making this experience a good one.
Third visit was a week later. We took friends visiting from Texas. We told them how great the food was from the week prior…our mistake.
This visit was pathetic and clearly our last. First, our server, who was clearly young, seemed as if she had no interest in working that day. She had ZERO personality or customer service skills. When she finally took our drink order (15 minutes after being seated), the four of us each ordered a cocktail. She brought the orders out one at a time with a 10 minute gaps between the first two. The other two were mojitos and we reminded her of our order 15 minutes after the second drink came out. When I reminded her we ordered them she said she’d “get them when she could.” When they finally arrived, one was pink. She said “I know this is discolored, but the bartender made a pomegranate martini and didn’t wash out the shaker.” We were a little surprised at the fact she knew this and didn’t correct it. We took a sip and they both clearly weren’t mojitos. I walked them back to the bar. We then got our food, completely different experience than the previous visit. One order was lemon pepper wings….more like lemon crusted stones. All the food was overcooked and nothing like the previous visit.
I finally went to speak to the manager and her reaction lacked any sort of concern as well. Ironically, there was a “consultant” there on that day and he listened while I discussed with the manager. He was the only one with any sense of urgency or concern. Regardless, this place is a joke. Employees are a reflection of leadership. Hopefully they get their act together, I’m anxious to hear of future experiences as two of our three (and last one) were...
Read moreI’m really not sure how this place has gotten such good reviews. Tonight was my first visit and I was very shocked at the level of disorganization and bad service, probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in Newnan to date.
To start, we waited about 10 minutes after being seated for the server to come acknowledge our table. After ordering apps and drinks, it took at least another 8-10 minutes to get chips and salsa. Also, It was slow tonight so I saw when the bartender made our drinks, they sat there for at least 10 minutes until the server noticed them. THEN, the server comes over and says “Would yall like a third margarita for half the price, he made too many,” when actually he rung in a third by accident. I said yes, feeling bad as he was clearly struggling. He came back later and said he “probably wouldn’t charge us for it,” and still did on the final bill.
I felt the food was way overpriced for the quality, everything tasted as if it came out of a bag. Only thing I really enjoyed was the salsa and the taste of the margaritas. I only tasted maybe 4 fries that tasted like they had truffle on them. The burger was unimpressive, tasted burned, and was unseasoned.
Lastly, at the end of the meal the server asked about the check. I let him know it’s 1 check and I’ll need to use two cards as I was using a company card. After literally 20 minutes of him consulting with the bartender about how to do the check, I finally paid and left.
The server mentioned at the end that it was his first time serving, which for a new business, this should NEVER happen without having a trainer. NEVER risk costing your business thousands of dollars by losing potential repeat customers by making desperate decisions like this. Proper training is vital, especially for new restaurants.
I have no desire to return, but I really hope nights like this don’t happen too often or I foresee this business not...
Read moreWe were delighted to discover this WONDERFUL dining spot so conveniently located to our home. We are new to the Newnan area, having moved here from Savannah six months ago. We LOVE Newnan. It is a beautiful area, and while we are enjoying our new home and the lovely surroundings, we admit that we miss several of our favorite dining spots in Savannah. We've missed the ambiance and many of the culinary delights that we loved to experience in a foodie town like Savannah. Sure, you can venture into Atlanta for a culinary experience, but the traffic-- no thank you. So, about Botanico-- You first notice when you walk up to the entrance that there is a gorgeous outdoor patio dining area, lovely tiled planters and white brick fireplace that was actually fired up when we arrived about 9:00pm. BEAUTIFUL! Too bad it was too cold to dine outdoors. (Come on Spring!) We entered, and found the interior to be professionally designed, really upscale. The lighting has a hip vibe, and there was even a saxophonist providing great background music. Wait, are we back in Savannah? In New York City, maybe? Atlanta? Miami? No! THIS eatery is right here on 34, in Newnan. Incredible! What a find. I ordered the cerviche and the duck enchilada. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. My husband ordered the beet salad, stunningly presented, and the shrimp taco. Beautifully presented and also delicious We did not order one of Botanico's special cocktails because it was a work night. Next visit. Kudos to the owners, our server who was gracious and attentive, to the musician who we really enjoyed, and BRAVO to the kitchen staff. Thank you, thank you! One word of gentle advice to the owners, however. PLEASE make the drink and food posters on the window facing the highway and parking lot go away. It cheapens the classy image of your restaurant. Newnan, please check out Botanico. You will not be...
