They tried to rip me off.
My husband went there today and got the goat curry lunch (which includes a soda) to go. The cost was $8.99, I waited in the car. About an hour later, I went to eat here with my friend - it was the first time for both of us.
First of all, the employees are very rude and unfriendly - my husband has been here many times and said that is usually the case.
I ordered the jerk chicken lunch - the small lunch size portion. After making my food, the same lady walked over the register and told me the bill was $25. I thought it seemed expensive and asked why it was so much. She stated it was expensive because I ordered oxtail. WHAT!? She made my order and knew I had the small jerk chicken, but she insisted the price was $25 and I reluctantly paid. I asked for a receipt and was given one that only showed my subtotal, tax, and tip (which I regret adding). She began ringing up another customer and at that time I called my husband in front of the lady and he told me his meal (which was almost the same thing) was only $8.99. I told her the price should have been $8.99 (or close to it) and not $25. She finally gave me an itemized receipt showing an oxtail meal for $20.99. I didn't realize it earlier, because I was so angry, but that receipt was from two days earlier - not even the order I paid for. After a little more back and forth, she finally recanted and stated something like, "oh, you had the chicken?" YES! YOU PREPARED MY MEAL! She finally said she'd get it fixed and after doing some math returned $14.40 in cash.
It was an unnecessarily frustrating experience and I really believe I was treated so poorly because I'm Asian and she didn't expect me to protest when overcharged. Not going again.
And for the company (since you guys seem to reply to these posts), my Transaction number was 126403. I'd love to know what I was charged for the first time.....I still...
Read moreTHIS REVIEW IS BASED SOLEY ON THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I called in 7:45pm, 15 minutes before closing yesterday and inquired if I can pay for some food over the phone, the girl who answered stated, no they don’t do that. I then asked if it’s possible to put an order of Oxtail aside because I’m 10 minutes away, she said, they don’t hold food…. I’m asking for you to put an order aside for 10 minutes and your unable to do so without even attempting to ask the manger if it would be possible due to closing. It wasn’t 4pm rush hour to where that would be difficult to do. It’s closing in 15 minutes, Then I explained to her I’ll be there by 7:55pm, and wanted to know if any oxtail would be left , she said if you want to try to come you can. This young lady not only did she not care, but the business she is representing demonstrates a poor attitude, it was easier for her to tell me she can’t do anything as opposed to just inquire if it would be possible. If I wasn’t picking up food for someone I would of never had went. It was a complete turn off to tell someone they can come, try and see if there’s anything available then to ask or put it aside. Once I got there it was a small order of oxtail left, barely any meat. I purchased it. I inquired about the leftover food with another coworker, he stated, if there is any left overs the staff is able to take it home. So for 10 minutes if I didn’t make it, the food would not have gone to waste or stored for the next day, the staff would of been able to take it home. Her attitude was a turn off. This location lost a customer. And to the owner of this location train your employees on customer service. People come for the food but they stay based on how...
Read moreI have never experienced (in all my many years of having roti) a Roti that was served open, face up with stewed chicken slopped into the shell with complete bones in the chicken and so much liquid (like soup) we actually had to pour it out of the container. A chicken roti is neatly folded and has the ingredients on the inside and you should be able to pick it up in your hands. (Even the illustrated image on the front window showed a neatly folded and wrapped roti)
You must first remove the bones so that The person eating it doesn’t bite down or choke on a chicken bone. You must also strain out the liquid when placing the filling inside. My husband got so frustrated trying to eat the thing he wanted to just throw it away. Apart from that the recipe was tasty.
The service was adequate but not friendly. There was a younger gentleman that helped us and he was very nice. Also the lady that seemed to be a manager was very friendly and knew her stuff. There was a supervisor or inventory control lady or whoever was the lady that was standing at the counter completing her paperwork who can DEFINITIVELY use some training on people skills . Completely rude, could not be bothered. I asked her for some more pepper sauce and she rolled her eyes to grab it. Come on lady you work in a customer service/ food industry. If you don’t like what you do quit! Or at least stay far away from customer interactions.
Attn: Management If we decide to spend our money in this place again in the future we would hope to fully enjoy the food and experience. I mean come on, that last why people spend their hard earned money to buy food from restaurants to begin with instead of just cooking at...
