I think this is the worst rating I have given this year, 1. Customer discrimination, 2. No sense of service, 3. The hygiene of the restaurant is terrible. This afternoon, our family of four was sightseeing and walking on the island, and we wanted to have dinner nearby, but This was a bad dinner. First of all, we entered the restaurant very early, so there were only two tables of customers dining in the restaurant. The front desk clerk arranged a small table for us near the entrance of the restaurant because there were four of us. , it felt crowded when we sat down, so I asked the waiter to change a table for us, because the guests next door had a big table for two, but the four of us were given a small, crowded table. The waiter said that all the tables had been reserved. I saw some tables with reservation signs, but some didn't, but in the end they arranged for us to a slightly larger four-seater dining table against the wall at the door of the toilet. Several tables of guests came from behind, and all their tables were seated. We ordered pre-dinner bread and snacks, but only our table was not served. After waiting for a long time, a waiter finally remembered that our table was not served bread. Later, the food was served one after another. We were accompanied by people going in and out of the toilet, and smelled the smell coming out of the toilet. The unclean smell and the little bugs flying above the table finished our dinner! This was the worst restaurant experience of the year, we will never go there again and I decided to write about it!

On our getaway, July 16th, we discovered an exceptional restaurant! The staff were amazing, from the host to the manager and everyone in between. The restaurant was full, but the host seated us at the front window, without having had a reservation! Our waiter was friendly and immediately helpful with wine and food selections... even gave us wine tasting samples and recommenations, and asked the chef for a vodka cream sauce taster, which had to be made fresh of us. The manager came by to check on us regularly, who was pleasant and friendly. We had the Chicken marsala and mushroom, the gnocchi with vodka sauce and fresh bread with an amazing compound butter spread, and started off with a raspberry vinegarette salad, which they plated as a split with the dressing on the side. Once the bread became cold, they took it back and toasted it for us! We left nothing and could have licked the plate! Dessert looked good, but no room! Can't wait to go back on our next trip to Balboa Island! Mic-drop...

Excellent pasta. The vodka sauce is on par with the pink sauce of Mama D's. I highly recommend you get the gnocchi with vodka sauce, add sausage. The gnocchi is home made, light and fluffy. The sausage is nicely thinly sliced and flavorful. The meatball is not that great. By default they provide a good amount of sauce with all of their pastas. And all of their pastas are big enough to share. The Penne Vodka with shrimp is also good. The Penne Giovanni is good with a light fresh taste. The garlic bread looks amazing but is disappointingly flavorless. The complimentary focaccia bread with mayo based olive tapenade spread is amazing and way better than the garlic bread. The Caprese Salad is good but needs balsamic and salt. The Caesar salad is average. Nice cozy ambience. Nice full pour on the wine.

Honestly some of the worst customer service l've ever experienced. Yesterday at 6:38 l put in my name to come back for a table of 3. I asked to be seated around 7:15 and the hostess said great I'll quote you at 45 minutes. I said that sounds great! We will be back here then. At 6:48 l got 2 calls from the restaurant that I missed. I ended up seeing it around 6:55 so I went to the restaurant and asked if there was something wrong with my table. Michael the manager in a suit scoffed at me and said "yeah we tried calling you TWICE and you didn't pick up so WE BUMPED YOU" (at this moment I almost said ok I don't need to eat here but there was no where else to eat) so I said okay not a problem what is the wait time now? He then ignored me for a few minutes and then looks up and realized that they didn't have any more reservations and that I would be next on the list. He then said it would be 10 minutes. It took 2 minutes for them to clear the table. I sat out front of the restaurant on the bench while the table was being cleared. When my table was ready he screamed my name twice as if I wasn't in front of him. Then when we got seated my boyfriend had food scraps on his seat so he took a napkin and wiped it off. Michael then said "oh someone is getting disciplined for that". It was the strangest experience l've ever had. Food was just OK. If you don't have to eat here, l'd recommend going somewhere else. You're bound to have...

I start off all of my reviews with the positive attributes of a resturant, Which in this case is that the restaurant is on Balbia Island. Unfortunately that’s the only positive thing about this restaurant. At first blush the restaurant seems inviting, Located on the main street of Balboa Island with all the other shops and restaurants. Upon entering the restaurant and being seated at a table, the first thing you notice is the table is dirty and sticky. You don’t even want to touch it. The atmosphere is typical mid fair Italian, except for the continuous loop of 1960s music which does nothing to enhance the atmosphere. I ordered a glass of Cabernet, which was warm, making the wine undrinkable. We ordered an appetizer of focaccia bread which was unappetizing, the bread was stale. We also ordered the Caesar salad. Again, there was no attention to detail, the salad was covered with a cheap ranch dressing which again wasn’t even edible. We ordered the pepperoni pizza. Now, how hard is it to make a decent pepperoni pizza. While this restaurant figured out a way to deliver an absolutely inedible pizza. It was nothing more than a frozen pizza out of a box. It didn’t even have mozzarella cheese. It was covered with cheap yellow Velveeta cheese. All in all with a tip we spent $90. I highly recommend that you find a different...
