Definitely a tourist trap area and, when you enter the local t-shirt stores, you will see how heavily republican that area of Orange County leans. Lots of stuff for kids and adults to do. Day trip boats to Catalina run out of that area, the automobile / boat ferry runs from their to Balboa Island, you can rent electric boats to captain yourself or pay for a guided tour of the harbor. Lots of places to eat, from pizza slices to sit down fancy dinners. Easy to walk around, challenging to park, especially on summer weekends. Many lots have a two-hour limit so you need to read carefully before parking, paying, and walking away. Honestly, if you can Uber or Lyft down and home, you'll probably have a better time. Plus, everyone in your party (if they are of age) can have a cocktail and even enjoy one in a place where John Wayne used to have one, back in the day (Class of '47). Expect tourist level prices, some crowds and challenging parking, then relax and walk a few blocks to the other side of the peninsula to see the...
Read moreChartering the Tiki boat for my birthday produced the best birthday ever! Henk, the owner and Charlie made the whole process easy and enjoyable. Because I had only 33 of my friends, rather than the minimum of 50, they offered me extra appetizers, which turned out to be more than enough. I chose the Mexican appetizers, which everyone on-board agreed were excellent. The DJ was included, and played all the songs I had requested. Also included in our 3 hour party (I wouldn't do less than 3 hours-the time went by very fast) was Jan the bartender, who was really friendly, warm and proficient. You can't beat the price of $1,950! I checked around before booking and couldn't find anything even close to that price. I had an open bar, and because of the reasonable prices for beer and mixed drinks, the tab was much less than I anticipated. These are GREAT people to work with! Every one of my friends said it was a fantastic party. Thank you Henk, Charlie and Jan for a really fun...
Read moreWhat a wonderful way to experience the sunset than being on the water.
Although this is not the most lavish of vessels to sail on, it has its perks.
Small and compact allowing you to get to see some areas of the harbour that would hinder a larger vessel. While out on the seas please don't forget to bring you something to toast away the beautiful sunset as you cruise the open waters.
As the sun sets please be mindful and have something to cover up with, as the weather starts to change getting a tad bit cooler.
A restroom is provided on this vessel which I can say is very very small. The friendly and funny staff do there very best to give you a memorable experience while on board.
Have your camera and or phone ready for some of the most spectacular views as you sail in and out...
