CURRENT Coastal Cuisine — Restaurant in Newport Beach

Tried to grab lunch with a few colleagues, but the restaurant was not fully staffed. What should have been a 1 hour lunch turned into 2.5 hours. There was only one person acting as bar man, server, waiter and bussing tables.

I didn't think our group of 10 had complicated orders, but almost everything came out wrong. I had order the Seared Tuna Noodle Salad and asked for no green onions. The peppered tuna was nice and the dressing was wonderful, but the noodles were so cold and hard. I also fished out so many green onions when the server specifically made sure mine was without them lol.

The funny aspect of this lunch ordeal was trying to add a fried egg and lobster onto the Grilled Cheese. Somehow the egg and lobster ended up on salmon platter. Even when the item was brought out correctly, the fried egg was placed on top of the grilled cheese rather than inside.

Anywho, surprised management only staffed one person when there was a conference going on and the meetings rooms were booked. Such a laughable experience, but at least they did comp some items given the trouble we...

Service is slow. They're not pleasant. It took 15 minutes for them to bring me milk. Then there was a bug in my food. After waiting for 10 minutes for the waitress to come, I told her that there is a bug in it and she kept asking me to repeat myself. I said it 3 times until she just grabbed the plate and took it out, without any apology or alternative. So I was just left there sitting with no food and no menu. Hopefully hotel management steps in. Honorable mentions must go out to JAMIE and Carina for being so wonderfully warm, sweet and terrific servers. They made us feel appreciated and like family. Jamie is the best and is so fun and upbeat and thoughtful, esp. to our son. Carina remembered our needs the second time we had breakfast and was always so kind. The entire breakfast team was stellar.
