The product is good. The sandwiches however this is the 2nd time in a row the service has not been great. This time though will be our last. We tried to phone in an order but the line was busy for 10 minutes. So we downloaded the app and ordered on line. The order was scheduled for 12:45 to be picked up and we ordered 4 sandwiches at 12:05. So we gave Ike's 40 minutes to make 4 sandwiches and they are sandwich shop. Upon walking in i go to the pick up line and there is a plethora of ipads beeping. they said did you order from postmates? no, your app They pick one up and say "oh here is your order. I said I need to be somewhere in 10 minutes. To which the response was "Well we are busy sir as you can see". I do see that and that is great, but that is why we ordered 40 minutes ago. So they offer to make them "fast" (Turned out to be 17 minutes) and then before they make them I said please review the kids order they are completely dry no sauce etc. "yes sir Turkey and avocado only". so 55 minutes later from order we get our sandwiches and then 3 of 4 are wrong. my kids won't eat them because they have sauce and we are late. While we were waiting i ordered a lemonade for my son which they charged me for which is fine but one would think it's an opportunity to apologize vs. "we are busy". I get that maybe they are understaffed but lunch rush is typical where there is good food. After all that I have 3 sandwiches my kids won't eat because they were wrong. Mine was good , but had one condiment i ordered without but hey...they will be one family less busy on...
Read morewas about to give ike's a high rating until i examined my receipt to find a $.50 "ike's healthcare surcharge". wait what? are you serious? been in orange county this long and never seen this on my receipt before from a restaurant...
i got the hot momma huda, which isn't on the menu. it's basically the non-vegan non-vegetarian version of xxx-tina, aka buffalo chicken sandwich.
it was perfectly drenched in buffalo chicken sauce sandwiched between the to die for dutch crunch bread.
but was it worth $8.98, along with 50 cents surcharge, AND $2.75 to make it a combo? i beg to differ.
$13.21 total for lunch is a lot to ask for, considering the sandwiches don't have premium complimentary add-on. they only offer lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and jalapenos for free. if you want other add-ons, be prepared to spend close to $20 for lunch.
did ike's forget that they're no longer in san francisco? mind you orange county isn't cheap, but it isn't san francisco expensive either! some moderate adjustments to the price based on location would be appreciated.
p.s. for the record, the la location does NOT charge for healthcare surcharge (see business photo). i don't appreciate business that nickel and dime...
Read moreIKE'S is gourmet sandwiches Restaurant, a multiple kind of delicious sandwiches, but with this location they must have either bad owners or bad luck in hiring the right people.
You can hardly come and see the same face twice, most staff i encounter are bad attitude type and not friendly or hospitable.
When you walk in the Restaurant you look at the staff they like fixtures in the Restaurant, they look like they are dragged to work there.
Yes it is the love and sandwiches is the name of the Restaurant but for sure you will find the sandwiches but without the love.
I think this will be my last visit to this location, i like a Restaurant that can make my visit joyful.
take for example 2 times already the staff goes out to broome the floor while people are eating, i have to ask to stop brooming the floor as she is creating dusty atmospheres while people are eating, its not even healthy, restuarant should be cleaned when customers are not eating.
Very bad management at this location, based on my disappointing experience i don't recommend eating there, better spend your money where you can be Respected and offered thanks to...
