This an honest review based upon my previous experience once before and more recently. The beer selection on tap is as expected with Harp, Smithwicks and Guinness. The soda bread is great, but that was about it. The service was good too, but the food was meh at best, at those prices. Ordered a Ruben sandwich which supposed to come with sauerkraut, but was missing. The portion of corned beef was skimpy, since it didn't cover the entire piece of rye toast. The server was informed and promptly took it back to kitchen. She returned in a few minutes with a whole new plate of fries and new Reuben sandwich, which was with Kraut, however their version of Sauerkraut was more akin to coleslaw served with pulled pork. Additional thousand island dressing with real Sauerkraut would have made a good sandwich. Disappointed but hungry, I did eat it because the meat was good. The server was attentive and is the reason for the two stars. Food was lacking and would recommend that before advertising any food items that Chef is knowledgeable with it and has experienced a good example of one.
The atmosphere is hit and miss. We sat in the courtyard next to the windows of the bar seating, where on the inside was a groups OC midde aged drunk businessmen loud and obnoxiously telling stories of recent exploits. Flatbiller unrefined boys with lots of money that are lonely drinking buddies....

I’d give them 6 stars if I could
Muldoons in Newport Beach is not just an Irish pub; it's a magical place where good times and laughter are on the menu. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the radiant smile of Olivia G, the hostess with the mostess, who could charm a leprechaun out of his pot of gold.
But let's talk about the man of the hour, the maestro of mirth, Scott S! If laughter is the best medicine, then Scott should be available on prescription. He doesn't just serve food; he delivers a side of jokes with every order. My dining experience was a perfect blend of gastronomic delights and stand-up comedy – a true feast for the senses.
As for the food, Muldoons takes pub grub to a whole new level! St. Patrick himself would give it a four-leaf clover seal of approval. In a world of ordinary pub experiences, Muldoons stands out like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Thanks to Scott S and Olivia G, my evening was sprinkled with Irish charm and belly laughs. So, if you're in Newport Beach and in need of a craic-ing good time, Muldoons is the place to be – where the laughter is contagious, the food is divine, and Scott S and Olivia G steal the show!

Read moreWe stumbled upon this hidden gem entirely by accident. After returning from a trip to London and craving a proper English breakfast, we found this place through a quick search and decided to give it a try. While it turned out to be an Irish pub rather than an English one, they offered an Irish breakfast that absolutely hit the spot.
We loved the food, the warm atmosphere, and the incredible hospitality from John, who even gave us a tour of the place. It quickly became one of our favorite spots.
We’ve been for both lunch and dinner—both of which I highly recommend. Some of my personal favorites include the steak and eggs, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and Irish stew. And don’t forget the soda bread! It’s so good that heading here for breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday has become a tradition for us. Sitting by the fireplace in the beautifully designed dark-wood dining room transports us back to London, capturing that same cozy pub charm.
The staff here is truly fantastic—always welcoming and a joy to see. We look forward to catching up with our favorites: Amber, her sister Bree, Hannah, and the newest addition, Taylor. They’re all amazing and make every visit even more enjoyable.
