Went to this place on a Monday night and there was no line which was great. Servers were nice and attentive. Ordered the king salmon belly, regular salmon, spanish mackerel, golden snapper, sea bass, unagi, blue fin tuna, toro and a soft shell crab roll. Everything was delicious! Sushi was made well, the consistency of the rice was perfect and most importantly, the rice did not separate from the fish as you picked it up. Even the soft shell crab roll was amazing. The only thing I would order differently next time is I'd skip the king salmon belly as it tastes just like the regular salmon and I'd get the regular mackerel instead of the Spanish one which I believe is more tasty. We also tried the flan which Nana makes every morning and it was worth getting. So far, I find that this is the best sushi place in OC and I would definitely come back.

My favorite local sushi spot. It's consistently fresh and one of the few sushi restaurants where I don't douse my sushi in soy sauce and wasabi because it's THAT GOOD. I used to always get the omakase, but lately I've been ordering just my favorites (pretty much everything lol). Pictured from last night, I ordered yellowtail, red snapper, toro, scallop, uni, king salmon, Scottish salmon, spicy tuna handroll, sweet shrimp (ama ebi), monkfish liver, and a softshell crab cut roll. You really can't go wrong with anything there. If you get there early, make sure you go inside and put your name on the checklist. Dinner starts at 5:30pm but if your name isn't on the list, you might end up waiting for a while to get seated.

Nana San sushi bar is one of the best sushi places I have ever visited. It's a small restaurant with max occupancy to41 people at a time. The inside of the restaurant is modern and trendy with live chef counter and bar on on side. Place is very well maintained and clean and staff is very friendly. I have never tried so many different style of sushi before and I loved all the different sushi chef prepared for us. This place is a hidden gem and if you love sushi thus is a place you can't miss

Nana San is our favorite sushi restaurant in OC right now. Everything on the menu is fresh and well presented. We especially like that they have consistently had available toro, wild salmon, black and red snapper. The sea bass sashimi was a new one for us which I really enjoyed. Soft shell crab (crunchy) roll was also delicious and my daughter enjoyed it even after learning exactly what it was. Seaweed salad is also worth trying - simple but you can see their focus on quality in how fresh and bright the salad leaves are.

It’s hard to get a table here on the weekend but through diligently calling the day of, we have been able to come a couple times with minimal hassle. You just have to be willing to be “on call” for your table.

I hope they don’t change anything about this little restaurant. It has a small intimate feel, but still informal...

Food: 3 Decor: 4 Service: 2

Came here with gf and a friend for dinner.

Roll combination, 20 Disappointing. 3 rolls, none of which were very good, and many pieces that fell apart.

Chicken karaage Delicious. Chicken wasn't too fried, and it was hot and crunchy.

Red Snapper Sashimi with Yuzu and Sea Salt Delicious. Sashimi was fresh and worked nicely with the yuzu and cucumber.

We ordered 3 starred sashimi dishes on the menu, but I can't remember the other two. The snapper sashimi above was the best one. Total was about $35 pp after t/t.

Service was horrible. We showed up at 7:15pm, were told the wait would be 45 min, and ended up not getting seated until 9pm. That's 105 instead of 45 min. After seating, we were ignored and didn't get our orders in until at least...
