Tacos & Co. — Restaurant in Newport Beach

I just needed to write this review....I order the big family meal "el grande" I believe it's called....I want to pick it up before the Superbowl....I walked in and paid...they gave me several bags. I left ... I had so many bags that I didn't check to see if everything was there but I did ask if everything was there. They assured me it was. When I got home I realized that I had not received any of the meat which was over 4 lb of meat. I called and the gentleman that worked there didn't even question. It went back and checked with the cooks and realized that I did not get my meat ask for my address and had it at my house in 10 minutes. This is by far the best example of exemplary customer service that I've ever seen. Although I didn't get the gentleman's name, he knows who he is and I appreciate him very much. Late lunch while in from out of town working. Colleague said this place does a lot of school and business catering so figured I’d give it a shot.

Pretty empty but in the thirty minutes I was there you could tell the people coming in were regular based on how quickly they ordered and retrieved their salsa from the condiment bar!

Counter chick was super cool and gave me her recommendations and the fella making our plates was friendly and quick.

I got the bean and cheese burrito and added steak. Simple but tasty and filling. I’m not a big add salsa to my taco/burrito person but their red salsa was good enough that I added MORE onions to it and poured it on every bite.

Buddy got the gordo, which she said was the most popular. He couldn’t finish the whole thing.

I’d give this place all the stars for meeting my expectations for a speedy but home...

I ordered 2 Gordo burritos for lunchtime the other day and they were perfect and delicious so I decided to order from here again for dinner.

I ordered around 8:30pm and they close at 9pm so granted they were about to close so maybe they were in a rush and i get it but I don't think that justifies the low level food quality... the burritos were a soggy mess with grease and salsa dripping from the tortillas and the steak had an off texture and extra chewy and the chips were stale and the salsa tasted off too and for tacos I asked for flour but still got corn tortillas.

I was hoping for a repeat of the great burritos I had for lunch but instead I got something completely opposite and I hate when restaurants lack consistency and it's like a gamble every time you order.

Maybe I will just order for lunch if I decide to...
