It has been the better part of a month since I’ve seen dry land. Those days seemed to blend together. I’m back now. Numbed by the beauty and power of the open ocean. The clouds, the sun, speak to you without saying a word. The ocean rages, then calms. You find yourself becoming one with it all. Unsure if your temperament is cause or effect. Sights of sailboats and trollers, kissing the skyline, amidst a dream. Or perhaps a Homer Winslow, only to be dropped inside; realizing not even he, could do it justice. Hundreds of dolphins following the boat, chasing cotton candy skies over the horizon. Is it dawn or dusk? Flurries of tight lines, and we’re making money. If I could bottle it all up and sell it, I’d be a millionaire tax free. But what would I do? Buy it back, cause you can’t beat West Coast Country… But oh, how I long for the warm embrace of a woman. Alone on the high seas, recalling the girls, the women, I’ve loved over the years. Though it seems so far away now, becoming difficult to tell if they’re memories or dreams. Really, what’s the difference? I see them. Walking , counting, with men less virtuous than I; and yet, it seems fitting. The lowest hanging fruit appears ripest until picked. Only then do you realize it was soft, riddled, and lacking knowledge of any sort. A world domesticated by order, driven by love of comfort, or perhaps a distraction from the opposite ; creates dogs from wolf’s. I’d rather be a wolf of my own accord. Seldom leaving a stone unturned in pursuit of what I seek. So far, to no avail, only dust in my eyes. But now, from failure, I find myself no longer hastily searching, knowing it’s here, quietly waiting for the washing waters to still, so our reflections become clear. Enough so, to start our own pack. Crystallizing a love that’s true. The creation of new life, and spending the rest of ours fostering it, so one day they can do the same. The only pursuit which renders anything of lasting truth. You know, It’s good to be back, I was craving some Chinese food out on that boat. As was I, my grandmothers macaroni salad. I’m sure she’s at home right now with my aunt, possibly with a half batch in the fridge. I’ll stop by later and pay them a visit. Find out for myself. Anyways, today I’m having some fried rice and general tsaos chicken. One of my go to dishes here at the Kam meng. So delicious and nutritious. It rivals the panko breaded tuna I wrestled from the jaws of a blue shark while at sea. And their tea, better Kam Meng and try it. Well I made it home with both hands, and a healthy appetite. The food and staff here are wonderful! God bless. Try Kam Meng today. I know you won’t regret it. Don’t forget to stream my newest single, West Coast Country. Available on iTunes and...
Read moreAbsolutely don't go. Read first trust me. Without over exaggerating let me start. Let's start with the atmosphere since it's the first thing that slaps you in the face as you walk in. The smell that came out as I opened the door was horrible as I look at the decor I feel like I'm in a scene murder mystery show. I felt like I was going to be attacked as I walked to the booth with oversized seat covers. The waiter is the only thing that was good he was nice and patient, only reason why I left a tip was because it's not his fault. We ordered our food and the egg flour soup arrived that looked as if it was the only food served at a concentration camp. The smell coming from it was similar to chicken noodle soup which isn't bad but the consistency was like drool from a dog and the taste was foul like day old trash in 90° weather. After refusing to eat the "soup" the waiter was kind enough to remove it from the table before I vomited and made a second serving. Our food arrived I ordered the kung pow chicken with pork fried rice and my girlfriend ordered some other monstrosity. First off the pork fried rice smelled musty and almost like a childs shoe after being left in the rain overnight. The taste was terrible it seemed like 5 day old rice being patted down with the "cooks" armpit to make that dome shape we know fried rice to look like. It's safe to say I didn't consume this either. Now the chicken in the kung pow tasted old and gummy almost overcooked but bland in flavor. At this point I made a decision that I no longer consume this waste. The service staff was nice it was an older gentlemen and a younger guy with long pony tail. I feel bad that they can't receive proper tips because the cruel torture that falls on the plates. So if your brave or think I'm lying and you decide to consume from here make sure you leave a big tip to the wait staff, it's not their fault. BTW I know I have typos and grammar errors I wrote this while cleansing my pallet with taco bell....
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming here for 15 years. It's not the same anymore. We've kept trying hoping it was just a bad night in the kitchen but no.
Last time we got almond fried chicken it was rubbery & chewy hardlyany chicken. We said something & got the waiter to take it back. It was replaced with less chicken than before. The price went up for far less food.
Yesterday we ordered our usual to give it one more try. Almond fried chicken, garlic butter claims, & fish pots. The almond chicken looked like tiny nuggets. We used to get 2 chicken breast. Now it's thin little nuggets instead of chicken breast sliced & covered in gravy.
Hardly any class & no buttery broth.
Kam's dad left & he was an amazing cook. He did the best fish pots!! These had no flavor very bland for the mild. The hot & spicy I ordered had a layer of powder that was way to spicy to eat. I choked from the spice.
Used to be a great place but after Kam's wife left & now the dad everything is different.
The bathrooms stink like sewage, the walls are filthy, booths are falling apart, the waiter is nice we've loved him over the years but he can't do anything about ppl's complaints because Kam gets mad. Higher prices, way less food, the chicken always looks bad, & I'm horrified by what the kitchen might look like. The place has fallen apart & Kam doesn't seem to care at all. Not worth our time & money anymore. We spent $60 & when before it would've cost $40. Sucks we drove all the way from Vancouver WA just to eat yesterday. I hope it gets better but I doubt this place will be open much longer.
Oh and the egg flour soup had chunks of something...
